Protest techno?! Moby's Everything is Wrong |
|||
|
Pros: Widely varied and creative electronic music
Cons: Throwaway interludes; some songs go a bit too long
The Bottom Line: The Bottom Line is taking a well-deserved break today.
Review: Even before becoming a poster child for Calvin Klein jeans and movie soundtracks, Moby was one of th ...

Pros: A great smorgasboard of music from almost all genres.
Cons: Everything is wrong with this album. Just kidding, I couldn't resist such an obvious pun.
The Bottom Line: Brilliant music from a masterful artist. Get Play as well.
Review: Record stores always have trouble figuring out where to put Moby's music. He's perhaps the most genre-hopping, versatile artist of the 90's: he goes from tracks like the soothing, Enya-like Porcelain, to the hardcore dance track Thousand...

Pros: Beautiful, diverse, definitely Moby's best
Cons: Most people haven't experienced this side of Moby
The Bottom Line: If you like Play or Moby, buy this album. This early work of Moby shows him at his best.
Review: I first heard this album about six years ago and instantly fell in love with Moby. This is by far his best album. Moby does not have a set style or genre. This is definely apparent in this album as it flows from techno to thrash to classical vocals....

Pros: House meets techno meets punk meets classical.
Cons: not enough songs on it....
Review: Moby, a.k.a. Voodoo Child a.k.a. Richard Hall, is recently famous for his blues-and-gospel sampled techno album "Play," now a huge hit in England and the U.S. While some musicians prefer to keep a degree of anonymity and 'mystique' surrounding...

Pros: The beautiful melodies
Cons: I tend to skip some of the more guitar driven songs, but it's still a great album
Review: This is a really great album. It's my new favorite album to listen to at bedtime, taking the spot of John Coltrane's Love Supreme after a 3 week reign. It starts out with a beautiful, if not hypnotic piano solo which has some effects that slowly chime in...

Pros: a range of amazing tracks, from low tempo soothing beats, to fabulous trance!
Cons: its only an hour long cd
Review: this cd is so much fun, you forget that you have bills and that your lives suck (just kidding). but seriously... it is a well mixed, fun, toe-tapping, beat filled, great cd. Moby truly has a handle on what he is doing... granted it is simple techno,...

Pros: Great beat
Cons: Not enough mellow music
Review: I recently heard a song on the radio from MOBY called Natural Blues. I loved the song so I bought the album PLAY and loved every minute of it. I also bought the album Everything Is Wrong. I started listening to the album and Tranced out to it. I...

Pros: very very happy
Cons: very very annoying?
The Bottom Line: very happy, fast pace, uplifting, but perhaps repetative and annoying
Review: Every thing is wrong??? The album transports one in to a place in which everything is right! With the world they way it is, as Moby's political viewpiont points, it seems impossible to remain happy and peaceful, so much to disgaree with, everywhere you ...

Pros: different than his other works
Cons: disconcerting loud tracks
Review: Before he became a household name and platinum selling artist with his 1999 album Play, Moby went through what many thought was an identity crisis on the album Animal Rights. It was half speed-thrash pseudo-punk with lyrics while the other half was...

Pros: Powerful Songs, Great Dance Tracks
Cons: A Bit Choatic
Review: Moby's breakthrough 1995 CD, "Everything is Wrong" highlights a real juntutre of his career. On one end, there is the early techno and his single "Go". Then there is what is ahead, most notably the mellow smash "Natural...
