The best classical RPG out there, even in 2004

by   chris_lee88 ,  Feb 23, 2004
Pros: Choices that matter, bucks convention, plenty of gameplay, just never-ending fun
Cons: Some crashing bugs, longer load times than Fallout
The Bottom Line: Better than the Baldur's Gates, Diablos, Icewind Dales, etc. Champion of the now classical 2D RPGs.
Review: Fallout 2 is my favourite game. I’ve been gaming on a knowledgeable level since 1998, and I’ve played through masterpieceslike Half-Life, Baldur’s Gate, StarCraft, Age of Empires II, Baldur’s Gate II, Civilization 3, Grim Fandango, and ...

Fallout 1 and 2, incredible games

by   strifer ,  Mar 6, 2005
Pros: Non linear style of play, complete freedom Original game Incredible experience you will love
Cons: Kind of old, with a few bugs, but no many.
The Bottom Line: Incredibly original, filled with surprises, high replay value.
Review: Everynow and then an RPG (role playing game) comes along that becomes an instant hit with everyone and gains incredible mainstream status. Then there are RPGs that become incredible cult classics and are left as undiscovered jewels. Fallout is one of ...

Just when you thought it couldn't get better...

by   Taishan ,  Jun 25, 2000
Pros: Graphics, gameplay, sound, story, freedom, replay quality, anything you could ever want in a game!
Cons: none
Review: Let me start this by recommending you play the first one before you play this sequel. If you've never heard of Fallout before I would also recommend you look over some of the reviews for Fallout 1 so you can perhaps get a better understanding of some of...

Nuclear Fallout

by   Shin-Gogu ,  Apr 9, 2000
Pros: This is just one great all rounded game.
Cons: sometime a slow load time
Review: Fallout 2, oh... what can I say about Fallout two. Let see, first there is the really great animemated graphics. The fun factor is extremely high. If you like massive blood in your role playing game then this is your game. The amount and different types...

A Great Game, Especially If You've Played Fallout 1

by   shaggd_the_spy ,  Apr 8, 2001
Pros: Lots of details, not an "only one way to win" game; keeps you interested
Cons: Can be time-consuming, but then I liked that it wasn't too easy to win
The Bottom Line: Fallout 2 is a fun RPG that I would definitely recommend to anyone. It doesn't matter if you haven't played Fallout 1 before.
Review: You will better understand the plot of Fallout 2 if I first briefly explain Fallout 1. In the original Fallout, you and a number of other people live in an underground vault that protected you from the radiation of a nuclear war. The chip that purifies...

Fallout 2- Drugs, Sex, and Fun

by   Trco86 ,  Apr 21, 2000
Pros: Excellent graphics, freedom to do almost anything you want
Cons: none
Review: Fallout 2- This game has it all! You can do almost anything that you want! Want to steal those drugs from that thug? Go ahead! Feel like blasting that loser into tiny bits? Who's going to stop you? In Fallout 2 there is no real set pattern that you have...

How Good Can A Game Get?

by   SgtOxford ,  May 30, 2000
Pros: Excellent graphics, many locations to visit, non-linear gameplay, great storyline, lots of items, weapons, etc..
Cons: Takes awhile to load game after saving, takes a lot of your time to complete:o)
Review: I don't think it could get any better than this!
This game is great! The first time I saw it, I thought "this looks like a masterpiece." The graphics are superb, and they don't even require a 3D card. The box itself is stunning and eye...

California still going strong after being nuked

by   daishi_ambrai ,  Feb 4, 2001
Pros: Every good thing in the original has been expanded, and eliminating the bad
Cons: Still sluggish loading despite engine advancements
The Bottom Line: If you enjoy computer RPGs, pick up Fallout 2.
Review: Boasting a souped-up game engine, tweaked graphics, a juicier story, and more options then the original, Fallout 2 does everything a sequel should. Black Isle listened to it's players, and it shows in this power packed sequel. More control over your...
