Two Of The Greatest SNES Games, Now On Playstation

by   kjell1979 , top reviewer in Games at Epinions.com ,  Feb 6, 2003
Pros: Fun classic RPG titles rereleased! Better tranlation and presentation. New cutscenes.
Cons: Graphics and gameplay aren't cutting edge. Not much new for veterans.
The Bottom Line: This is a must pickup for RPG fans everywhere. No, it's not cutting edge. However, a good RPG fan has to respect the classics.
Review: This Ain't No Atari Rehash

The practice of re-releasing old video game titles on new systems has been very popular (and apparently very successful too) the past few years. I've seen old Atari games re-released for just about every...

Pros: Two of the Best Games Ever, New CutScenes...
Cons: Load Times on Chrono Trigger, Sound Effects on FF4 Have Been Hacked...
The Bottom Line: It's FF4 and Chrono Trigger!!! Chrono Trigger alone is enough for most people to buy this game, but FF4 is better In my opinion.
Review: Final Fantasy Chronicles
I rumors of a new Final Fantasy collection a long time ago, ans when I heard that the two games included in the package were Final Fantasy 4 and Chrono Trigger I immediately became interested. These are two of the...

A Perfectly Good Waste of a Vaction

by   BaronSamedi3 , top reviewer in Games at Epinions.com ,  Oct 18, 2001
Pros: Two classic, defining rpgs.
Cons: Loading time.
The Bottom Line: But it. Stop making this a required category.
Review: It's about time, says the back of the box these two games come in. When these two fantastic rpgs first came out, they helped to define the 16-bit era of rpgs. Although I have never played either of them before, I can honestly say that they stand the test...

Two Classics for the Price of One: Final Fantasy Chronicles

by   Mike_Bracken , top reviewer in Games at Epinions.com ,  Aug 13, 2003
Pros: Two classic games for the price of one.
Cons: Chrono Trigger runs a lot slower than it did on the cartridge.
The Bottom Line: Two RPGS--including one that might be the greatest RPG ever made--in one package.
Review: After countless internet petitions, emails, and pleas on internet message boards, Squaresoft finally ...

by   Rock_On , top reviewer in Games at Epinions.com ,  Sep 16, 2001
Pros: Two of Square Soft's greatest RPGs
Cons: none
The Bottom Line: Get this along with all the other Final Fantasies...
Review: A long, long time ago, back in the SNES days, two classic games developed by Square Soft, hit the SNES by storm. These two games are called Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy 4. Chrono Trigger, which is no doubt the best RPG ever,...

The two greatest games. Ever.

by   32_Footsteps , lead in Games at Epinions.com ,  Jul 5, 2001
Pros: Final Fantasy 4 hardtype and Chrono Trigger. All you ever need
Cons: Umm... it's not gold-plated? Some copies of FF4 may not work right.
The Bottom Line: Spoony (adj.) - to be excessively emotional and romantic, often to one's detriment (quoted with some liberties from Webster's)
Review: I've often been told that I am too traditional in my love of video games. I admit, I do prefer games to be pixelated rather than polygonal, and I find many storylines in modern games to be lacking. But is it fair, then, for me to compare games across...

Squaresoft proves again that they are the best RPG company!

by   JiggyJay , top reviewer in Games at Epinions.com ,  May 11, 2002
Pros: 2 games for the price of one, great gameplay
Cons: sound and graphics
The Bottom Line: Square Soft does it again with it's great characters, storylines, and battle system. With releasing two of it's oldest franchises, it made fans of the series, jump up with joy!
Review: When I first heard about FFC, I thought it was rumor like the Zelda game for PS2. Then I was in my local video game rental store and saw it on the stand but all of the copies were checked out. I looked at the cover and saw that it was Final Fantasy 4 and...

Hey! Squaresoft Reads Their Emails!

by   tanta07 ,  Oct 6, 2001
Pros: Two Of The Greatest RPGs Ever...Duh.
Cons: Horrendous Load Times On Chrono Trigger
The Bottom Line: If you are in any way a fan of RPGs, you need this. You know you want it, baby.
Review: Ahhh, yes. I can remember back when I finally got a Super Nintendo. I was 15, and I took my first summer job at a Burger King in order to pay for the lovely new console. Those were the days when I had no bills to pay, so every single penny I earned...

Chrono Trigger with Anime Cutscenes - WHAT MORE DO YOU NEED!?

by   LaughingTarget , top reviewer in Games at Epinions.com ,  Aug 3, 2001
Pros: New cutscenes for Chrono Trigger, two of the greatest RPGs in history.
Cons: Cutscenes for Final Fantasy IV, load times REALLY suck.
The Bottom Line: If you are one of those oddities that call FFVII "old school", do yourself a favor and pick this one up.
Review: Of course, the first thing I did when I heard Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy IV (2 for you freaks that count in American terms) were being re-released for the PSOne, I quite literally wet myself. Then I put my SNES into real retirement (not quite,...

Two big games, one big name!

by   ChromeKiller , top reviewer in Games at Epinions.com ,  Jul 4, 2001
Pros: Two classic titles with added FMV and anime!
Cons: Save/Load times are a little long.
The Bottom Line: You can find two classic Super Nintendo titles for one cheap price now. If you haven't played either, or want to play them again, get the game!
Review: Two titles, one package. Set forth on more than one adventure at the same time when Squaresoft reveals their time traveling masquerade, and their fantasy that never ends. This one adventure, with two titles, in one brand name, from one brand company is...
