This is a FINE Magazine

by   ed_grover , top reviewer in Magazines & Newspapers at Epinions.com ,  May 19, 2002
Pros: A beautiful and useful magazine
Cons: none
The Bottom Line: This publication is a delight for gardeners and non-gardeners alike!
Review: This is another re-post to tie in with the Gardening write-off. There are a few more to come. I hope you enjoy them.

I have some friends who live among the kettle moraines of southeastern Wisconsin (for those who don’t know what those are,...

Dream Gardens for the Real Gardener: Part 1 - Fine Gardening

by   sylvanb ,  Mar 30, 2001
Pros: Classy magazine with something for both novice and experienced gardeners.
Cons: None
The Bottom Line: Beautiful layouts and photos and excellent content with wide appeal makes "Fine Gardening" the cream of the crop.
Review: With spring a reality for some and only a promise for others, gardeners' minds and imaginations are turning toward this year's better-than-ever garden. The bright covers of the garden magazines beckon from newsstand and checkout displays. Which to buy?...

GARDENING FOR DUMMIES

by   susidee34 ,  Mar 29, 2000
Pros: Great articles and pictures
Cons: Doesn't come out monthly
Review: Gotta admit, I don't buy this mag. Not that I don't read it cover to cover, but I heist it at work. I sort of feel it is necessary to learn the newest ideas and concepts as part of my job LOL. Seriously, we get this magazine at work as well as it's...

Fine Gardening is the finest garden magazine

by   herrcool ,  Apr 9, 2001
Pros: A superior garden magazine
Cons: Relatively expensive
The Bottom Line: A luxury garden magazine, but well worth the cover price for its well written articles and colour photographs.
Review: For a New Zealand gardener the only 'con' about this magazine is the information on plant damage caused by deer and burrowing animals which is mainly irrelevant to us.

The photography is superb. The articles are very informative and often...

whimsical and practical

by   senselein ,  Aug 29, 2000
Pros: Great ideas, detailed, usable information
Cons: over the counter price
Review: I picked up this magazine for my sister-in-law, who was having trouble filling in a shady spot in her garden. But...I started browsing through it on the ride to her house and by the time we arrived, I decided I would just have to get her another copy,...

Practical and Sensible Gardening

by   forkids ,  Feb 15, 2000
Pros: A magazine full of gardening advice and helpful features
Cons: I would like to see ten issues vs. the current six
Review: I found myself standing at the copy machine at the Library feeding it with dimes and nickels over and over again on too many occasions. I finally realized that I would save myself a lot of time, money and aggravation if I would just get the...

This One's Not for Me

by   Rocketgirl , top reviewer in Magazines & Newspapers at Epinions.com ,  Feb 4, 2001
Pros: Ads kept to a minimum
Cons: Expensive at $6 per issue for only 90 pages
The Bottom Line: Don't buy this if you have a small garden plot.
Review: As you might guess by my pros and cons, I didn't feel there was very much in the content of this magazine to get excited about. Not that its bad. I just feel that I am the wrong audience for it.

Looking through the magazine I feel that it is...

Fine but not good

by   Coraoccllo ,  Mar 15, 2001
Pros: Nice, slick, attractive
Cons: limited audience
The Bottom Line: Slick, silly, pretty and useless.
Review: The title of this really should be "ornamental gardening", since the editors seem to be completely unaware of the fact that some people grow things that can be eaten. It's a very slick, pretty magazine, with few advertisements (which I consider a...
