Fine washer with the funny name

by   DesignSmith ,  Nov 9, 2006
Pros: Energy Star saving both electricity and water. Burst proof hoses included. Space saving cabinet.
Cons: Parts availability. (not yet needed, but hard to find on-line)
The Bottom Line: Buy this washer and save energy both washing and drying the clothes.
Review: Fisher and Paykel is not widely known or available in the US, but it is generally available at the Lowe's warehouse stores. At first my wife did not want the washer with the odd name and nearly as odd looks. But I was sold on the efficiency ratings, ...

We Love Ours

by   wcadmin ,  Nov 23, 2008
Pros: Uses only 7 amps, solar compatible.  Direct drive motor, efficient. Makes cute beeping like R2D2.
Cons: None so far. But will report any I find.
The Bottom Line: I do recommend this washer, I hope that parts are easier now due to expense of replacement.
Review: I bought my fisher and paykel back in early September 08.  We run our home off a propane generator and a solar system.  I always had to do laundry with the generator.  Now I don't, The FP is one of the only HE washers that will operate off ...

Save the planet while doing your laundry!

by   rpar003 ,  Aug 20, 2008
Pros: Energy efficient, water efficient and great at getting your clothes clean!
Cons: I've heard parts are hard to get hold of
The Bottom Line: Cleans your clothes and saves money on your utility bill!
Review: I love my Fisher and Paykel washing machine, but then I'm probably biased as it's the type I grew up with (being that I'm from NZ originally). I love the fact that it is so energy and water efficient! We use cloth diapers, and the time had long come ...

Great washer (and dryer)

by   motor_street ,  Mar 11, 2007
Pros: Very efficient, relatively quiet, high capacity, multiple settings, doesn't take up a lot of space
Cons: Very basic appearance
The Bottom Line: Buy it!
Review: We were looking for a lot more capacity than our old Whirlpool gave us. Although the Whirlpool was a workhorse that gave us many years of good use (and still works very well), it simply did not have enough capacity for my family of five. In addition ...

Got Kids? You'll love this washer!

by   cmorgan74 ,  Mar 7, 2008
Pros: Great machine all around, uses much less water & electric, compact and light-weight!
Cons: Can no longer use the washer to felt projects, No other complaints about this item!
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this machine to anyone. It is an excellent machine, very durable, and is even environmentally friendly! Easy to use features does most of the thinking for you!
Review: Must say this little machine has really impressed me! We purchased this unit awhile back, when I blew the transmission seal out of our newer Maytag. Being the third washer to meet it's fate at my hands in a period of 5 years, we decided to give something ...

So Far, pretty impressed!

by   cheffychef ,  Apr 22, 2007
Pros: Many features, physically light, MANY FEATURES!!
Cons: Potential Lifespan Issues, not much else negative to say
The Bottom Line: The features and energy savings are worth it, but there is much more to this machine.
Review: Well, our 20 year old washer died and we went over to Lowes to see what was out there. We found the Intuitive sitting next to a front loader Whirlpool.. Anyway, we don't have the room for front loaders in our laundry room, so it ruled out the better ...

I'm going to miss this

by   tykitate ,  Mar 17, 2009
Pros: LONG WARRANTY
Tons of cycles
time set
traditional vs eco wash
ease of use
water temps
Cons: Parts hard to get,
cost can be prohibitive
limited repair people (manufactured of New Zealand)
Review: I have this machine, and everyone told me I would love it. I bought the set. Within the first year the pump broke, and the biggest problem is that all the parts have to be shipped to you. I am so glad I got the extended warranty. I just recieved a gift ...

Unreliable--failed twice in less than 4 years

by   portert0224 ,  Aug 10, 2008
Pros: High RPM spin cycle nearly dried the clothes for your.
Cons: Unreliable. Long repair time. Repair parts not readily available. High cost to repair ratio.
Review: Failed to drain twice in 3 1/2 years. It took over 3 weeks to get it fixed the first time it failed. Repairman did not have the repair parts (not a common model) and then parts were not readily available. Second failure occured last week. Called ...

Problems after one year

by   lmcgilli ,  Feb 2, 2008
Pros: high speed dry - double edged sword- probably the reason the springs are shot.
Cons: broken after one year
Review: Same problem as mentioned by another reviewer. The tub went on TILT, broken to the point that it couldn't even finish the wash cycle. Had it serviced but that didn't fix it. WE have call #2 in for service. If this doesn't do it, we are going to trash it ...

Excellent concept - Unreliable parts!

by   slats518 ,  Nov 2, 2008
Pros: Cleans clothes efficiently and well!
Cons: Drain pump has failed each year I've owned the machine.
Review: I've had mine for 3 years.  I wash approximately three medium loads, twice a week.  Any savings in water/electricity have been offset by cost in parts.  The drain pump, which is easily replaced, has failed each year that I've owned the ...
