Pros: Nice size, plenty of legroom, smooth and stable ride.
Cons: Ignition keyhole awkward.
The Bottom Line: This SUV is well built and very reliable. It handles great and is a perfect size.
Review: I bought the 2003 Ford Escape XLT in October 2002. I have had no problems so far with the exception of a sticky accelerator (there is a service bulletin out to fix that one, so the repair job wasn't too big of a pain). The standard features on this car...

Pros: Super fun, lots of leg room, great acceleration (V6), Mach stereo is awesome
Cons: Ok, a few small ones....but I still LOVE my car!!!
The Bottom Line: The Escape is a great Escape from your standard little SUV's!
Review: 3/17/05: Updated again (finally)! I still love my car. I did have a problem with my sunroof leaking but that turned out to be a problem with how the factory installed it. Once the Ford dealership got a hold of it, not only did they get it on track but ...

Pros: Fuel economy, solid feel, fun to drive, lots of places for stuff.
Cons: Clutch chatter, engine and road noise on freeway
The Bottom Line: I would recommend to anyone. This is a great vehicle that needs to be driven to be understood.
Review: I bought this truck to replace my Cadillac Eldorado, which replaced a Mitsubishi Montero Sport XLS, 4WD. Please be patient, this history of my cars, is actually important to know, as it influenced my purchase and opinion of this vehicle. My Escape is ...

Pros: Zippy, COMFORTABLE, good looks, 16" tires, great interior lights
Cons: Gear shift lever too long, no light by ignition and hard to find the spot.
The Bottom Line: Value, looks, loaded with standards other manufacturers call upgrades, a solid buy.
Review: Yes indeed, this "compact" SUV is a gentle ride with superb, responsive handling. Braking is smooth and crisp and the 16 inch wheels are very nice. The exterior looks are clean, sporty and have a touch of elegance, especially with the 2-tone grey lower...

Pros: Large on the inside, small on the outside. Drives like a car.
Cons: Little noisier than I like (replace the tires). Wiper arm sometimes mistaken for shifter.
The Bottom Line: Ford has hit a home run with this vehicle. Zippy, entirely practical, drives like a car. Plenty of power. Great for trips. Reasonable fuel mileage. Buy it.
Review: I first saw this car on the lot about two years ago. Didn't buy it at that time but I was most impressed. Wife said we didn't have the money. A year went by and I wanted something a little more comfortable than our 99 Mystique (I'm large at 6'6" and ...

Pros: Good Handling, reliable, a lot of room
Cons: Not loud at all
The Bottom Line: Buy it, it is reliable and great for the whole family.
Review: Overall this car is terrific. You can pull a good amount on it, I mean I have one and I pulled my 2 Polaris jet skies and 1 ATV to New York to Seattle without any problems. This car is great. This is the only car I have and I got it for a low price, my...

Pros: 4x4, 6 Disk Changer, cargo cover, 60/40 split seats.
Cons: Ignition is awkward, only 4 speakers & No Boundries package should have bike accessory.
Review: Love this vehicle! I bought the XLT Sport with the No Boundries package. I had intentions of putting my bike on the rack but found out the "highlighted feature" was an option... :-( Well still trying to find the best deal on the bike rack accessory f ...

Limited for 2003: A more silent Escape? |
|||
|
Pros: People and cargo room, engine responsiveness, handling, SUV essence
Cons: Road and wind noise, seat comfort, overly complicated folding rear seat
The Bottom Line: The Escape has many things going for it. Unfortunately, the front seats and road noise require further attention. If you can live with these, though, this is an excellent vehicle.
Review: Others entered the car-based SUV earlier, but Ford made the biggest splash when it introduced the Escape in the 2001 model year. The Escape seemed to have it all: the appearance of a real SUV, a V6 to give it the grunt of a real SUV, a spacious interior, ...

Pros: Sporty.
Cons: Small gas tank. Rear head rests.
The Bottom Line: Nice, but not exactly what I wanted.
Review: Ive always been a SUV-driving type of woman. My last vehicle was a 2-door1994 Ford Explorer. It wasnt a 4x4, but it was still one of the best vehicles Ive ever owned. Why buy a SUV if you arent going to purchase 4-wheel drive? I ...

Pros: Comfortable, stylish, and affordable
Cons: Not the best outward appearance
The Bottom Line: This car may make a perfect match for those wishing to blend luxury with every day convenience.
Review: My husband loves Jaguars. He has a current lease on an S-type, has been to tour their factories in England, and has numerable collectables and trinkets adorning our home, tantamount to his love of this legendary car. So why am I writing about a Ford...
