2003 2004 Ford Focus Value Vehicle

by   MichaelMgoo ,  Oct 10, 2005
Pros: Driving economy and fun - Ford Focus Value out-the-door for Under $10,000.
Cons: Plan replacing the front brakes every 30k miles. The base model is difficult to locate.
The Bottom Line: Ford Focus loss leaders with air conditioning are a bargain. In a market where the word value is overused, the base model Focus fits the bill.
Review: We purchased a new Ford Focus in 2003, sold it after a year to a family member and bought a 2004. Both bought new, they are loss leader base models stripped of all but air conditioning. Both were bought with manual transmissions and the Zetec 4 ...

Nice Car

by   southgirl219 ,  Jan 21, 2008
Pros: gas mileage, decent power
Cons: extremely annoying loud blinker!
Review: I bought my Ford Focus a couple of years ago from a Ford Dealership. It had 30,000 miles on it when I bought it. It now has over 60,000. When I first got the car I noticed the trunk leaked. I did have to make a couple of trips to have it fixed, but ...

Gets the job done, but there are better

by   bluemooneys ,  May 25, 2006
Pros: cheap, reliable
Cons: gas mileage
Review: For the last few years the Focus has been a cheap, reliable car. It doesn't have a lot of frills, but it does get the job done. Myself, wife, and 2 dogs have made numerous road trips in comfort and had plenty of room. The only point I have been ...

Very solid car with some zip for a decent price

by   pcgamingtech ,  Sep 7, 2006
Pros: Performance, Price, Gas mileage, Style
Cons: None for me.
Review: I purchased my Ford Focus in 2004 and I have been pleasantly surprised with its performance since the purchase. The car is built very solid and the interior is neat and clean, and very well made. The car has good gas mileage 25-35MPG and has some zip ...

Better than a sharp stick in the eye...

by   sturgiscorners ,  Mar 9, 2008
Pros: Nice handling. Excellent standard equipment sound system. High driver's position due to seat design.
Cons: Mediocre mileage for vehicle class. Poor fit and function. Brakes squeal even when new.
The Bottom Line: If you have an opportunity to buy this vehicle used, I think it's OK if your expectations are not too high. I wouldn't pay book for it though.
Review: I bought a 2004 Focus Wagon in April of '04. I had long been a devotee of the Subaru wagons and when they gussied them up out of my price range, I bought a 1998 Saturn SW1, an excellent car which the geniuses at GM discontinued. So when it came time to ...

Not too happy with the Ford Focus ,too much unexpected expenses

by   wesley1982 ,  Nov 30, 2006
Pros: Decent gas mileage. Over 30mph on the highway.Storage space more than expected.
Cons: Unexpected money to be paid out on a basically new car.
Review: I bought a brand new 2000 Ford Focus and had the radio go out while still under warranty. Then at about 90,000 had to unexpectedly replace the ignition switch.(When I tried to start it,the key wouldn't turn leaving me stranded in another town.) I ...
