Pros: Comfortable driving, reliable
Cons: Bad gas Millage
The Bottom Line: Buy this car. Takes up more gas but worth it.
Review: A couple years back I purchased my 2004 Ford Taurus used. I had found out during the summer that my other car was not going to pass inspection because the frame was rusting and had a huge hole in it. So, I needed a new car before inspection came in the ...

Pros: Reliability, Safety, Cost, & decent gas mileage for a V6
Cons: Depreciation only if you keep your car for a long time
The Bottom Line: Highly recommend the purchase of a new or used Taurus. Unfortunately they discontinued the Taurus so buy a used one and take advantage of the depreciation.
Review: We just brought our 3rd Taurus. The first 2 we bought new with some unbelievable rebates. The 1997 Taurus SEL & the 2004 Taurus SES has only required normal maintenance (brakes, tires, oil & filter changes. The 1997 has 100,000 miles on it and is going ...

Pros: Affordable, good running, great performing work of art.
Cons: none.
The Bottom Line: I'd let my teenage children drive this car and feel safe knowing that Ford's got their back.
Review: Ford hit the nail on the head with my 2004 Ford Taurus SE. I live in the foot hills of the Appalachian Mountains and I have to tell you, this baby hugs sharp turns like nothing else on the road! It's OK on gas, but if you read the owners manual (The ...

Pros: Cheap, roomy, quiet, reliable, economical on insurance costs.
Cons: Ok only gas mileage.
Review: The Ford Taurus is shunned by consumer guides and magazines, portrayed as a distant second place finish to mostly Japanese competitors. The 2004 Taurus, a continuation of the re-designed 2000 model, handles nimbly, looks great, is safe (very low ...

Pros: Low initial cost (used), reliability
Cons: Comes in a plain vanilla wrapper
The Bottom Line: A best bet for affordable reliable mid sized transportation.
Review: My Taurus wagon (SE model) was purchased used for $12,995 with 21K on the odometer at the end of 2004. I was looking for a vehicle that offered similar carrying capacity to an SUV but at a more reasonable price point. Fuel consumption was another ...

Pros: Roomy, comfortable, reliable, safe, decent gas mileage. Cheap.
Cons: Build quality and materials only average, so-so handling. Depreciation.
The Bottom Line: Thumbs up. The Taurus delivers what it promises: comfort, room, reliability, reasonable cost of ownership.
Review: My 2004 Taurus SEL was floating around dealer inventories for about a year before I bought it two years ago. It is loaded with every conceivable option including leather, moon roof, adj. pedals, spoiler and the 24-valve engine. I got a great deal on it ...

Pros: Comfortable and Quiet on long road trips. Affordable initially. Good looking vehicle.
Cons: Lack of power. Depreciation. Frequent trips to dealer.
The Bottom Line: Get car checked out before you buy. The warranty saved us.
Review: My wife and I bought a 2004 used SES in 2004 with 21,000 miles on it. It was a good deal, and has been great for road trips and around the city. The car has never stalled or left me stranded, but it has had it's fair share of problems. In the first ...

Pros: Good exterior styling, power on the highway
Cons: Recall, gas mileage, fast depreciation
The Bottom Line: I wouldn't recommend anyone buy a Ford Taurus because the depreciation is not worth it and Ford doesn't notify of recalls.
Review: I traded in my Mercury Sable sedan for a 2004 Ford Taurus in November 2004. It has done its job, but I wish I had purchased a bigger vehicle. I was looking for something newer and leaned toward the Taurus due to the price. The price of Ford Tauruses was ...
