Ford is on the Right Track

by   coldsteel7 ,  Jan 17, 2005
Pros: Comfortable, stylish, affordable, nice trim options...did I mention stylish?
Cons: Not the most horse power in it's class.
The Bottom Line: This car is affordable, attractive and comfortable. Everything a full-sized sedan should be.
Review: It has been a long time since I have written a review here at Epinions. I guess it just took something worth writing about...I just sold my Expedition and have purchased a 2005 Ford Five Hundred...a car I feel is worth writing about. The Trim ...

A decision I'm extremely happy with!!

by   texassangel ,  Mar 3, 2006
Pros: Styling, comfort, economical, classy, sleek, good performance, great cargo capacity, and easy to drive.
Cons: Storage compartment dashboard bubble but getting that fixed next week.
The Bottom Line: This sedan is someone who wants a lot of room in a vehicle that drives like a smaller sedan with class and style.
Review: Exterior: The Limited has chrome on it that the SEL and SE lack. Personally, I love the chrome accents. I even purchased the aftermarket trunk handle trim and chrome license plate frames. I am not thrilled with the “brushed chrome” look of the ...

EXCELLENT AWD CAR!!

by   emt892 ,  Oct 11, 2008
Pros: Everything is great! Comfort! Dependability! Good MPG!
GO LOOK AT ONE!
Cons: None! TEST DRIVE ONE TODAY!
The Bottom Line: This is a great car that compares to a crossover/SUV. Good MPG!
Review: Because of the high cost of gas prices we had been talking about trading in my wife Dodge Durango (9 mpg) for something with much better MPG. My wife really didnt want to get rid of her Durango since it had three row seating (dont ask me we only have two ...

Volvo Safety at 1/2 the Cost

by   alex744 ,  Jul 14, 2005
Pros: Safety, Exterior style, traction control, comfort, interior space & trunk, 17 in wheels.
Cons: Bland interior, installed a dash cover due to reflection, mediocre fuel consumption.
The Bottom Line: The same platform as the Volvo S80 at about 1/2 the price. It looks like a large Passat, traction control is std., and it should have good resale value.
Review: Aug 15, 2005 After driving it for a while can report that the fuel consumption on two 500km highway trips averaged out to be 8.8L/100Km or 27mpg. My regular city/highway driving varies so I will have to check the consumption a few more times, but for ...

My SEL = Luxury + Business

by   coders4hire ,  Apr 9, 2005
Pros: Huge passenger and trunk space, great balance of luxury, sport and business
Cons: Buggy MP3/CD player, driver leg room
The Bottom Line: I wanted a classy business car with lots of room. The price was right and I got what I needed.
Review: I traded my F150 in for a more sensible automobile, one that was great for the kids, good on gas mileage, and would impress clients. I nailed it! I love the car, but it has had it's problems. The in-dash 6CD player plays CDs and MP3s. However, I ...

One of the First of the Line

by   hummerr ,  Mar 11, 2006
Pros: Fuel Economy, Standard Equipment, Styling of an Audi almost
Cons: Just a little under-powered, no complaints
Review: My Grandparents had recently a 2003 Taurus after owning a 1995 Cavalier for ten years. They bought they Taurus used for $11,000. Then six months later they went out on a limb and bought this new Five Hundred SE. We were all amazed by everything that this ...

Home Run Ford

by   sewclose ,  Nov 22, 2005
Pros: I think the best part of this car is the comfort and handling.
Cons: I have a noise in the right rear, haven't found the cause yet.
Review: I love this car. I am short and I can finally see out of a car without sitting on a pillow.Ford hit a home run with the Ford Five Hundred.I have taken it on two road trips and of course, all around town.It is great!!! ...

The Ford 500 is superior!

by   byearw ,  Jul 21, 2005
Pros: Smooth ride, excellent handling, quality, American made, family sedan, more bang for the buck!
Cons: Wind noise, and that is expected when you can go 0-60 in 7.5 seconds.
Review: I don't understand the bad rap that American sedans get. This one will change your mind on how you perceive them. A smooth ride, deceiving power, excellent handling, well priced, and all the amenities you need made me choose this sedan over a foreign ...

An excellent value!! Way to go Ford!!

by   dtfaniam ,  Aug 8, 2005
Pros: Comfort, handling and highway ride, interior and trunk space.
Cons: None
Review: I rented the five hundred and drove it across country. I must say, as an owner of two luxury imports (BMW and Lexus) this car was very impressive. It had extremely comfortable and supportive seats - tons of leg and head room and a backseat that would ...

With a designer from VW and a chassis from Volvo, will this car save Ford?

by   mkaresh , top reviewer in Cars & Motorsports at Epinions.com ,  Oct 1, 2004
Pros: Roominess, trunk space, seats fold, general capability
Cons: Bland exterior, interior looks cheaper than it is, generally lacks a soul
The Bottom Line: A very good value for those seeking a roomy, functional sedan. Not very rewarding to look at or drive, though.
Review: In 1997 Ford went outside the company to hire J Mays as its new chief designer. Earlier Mays had been chief designer at Audi, and Ford hoped he’d work similar magic in Dearborn. Well, the magic has been a long time coming. Mays’ concepts ranged ...
