Bought Used and No Problems

by   dlru ,  Dec 31, 2008
Pros: Great for small kitchens and holds a lot food in refrigerator.
Cons: Freezer might be small for people who keep a lot of frozen food.
The Bottom Line: If buying used, you'll probably be all set if other owners haven't had any problems.
Review: We bought this refrigerator in May 2008, and it has been working great for the last seven months.  The refrigerator was about one year old when purchased, and we are not aware of any problems that the prior owners had with it (or they may not have ...

Nice Fridge - Not Perfect

by   j_sherry ,  Jan 21, 2007
Pros: Attractive appearance, good storage options. Accurate temperatures.
Cons: Fairly quiet, but not as quiet as I hoped at times. Don't buy from Sears.
Review: We have had this fridge a few months now. Love the french doors and the overall design is very attractive. It's pretty quiet overall, but when the compressor first gets going, it's loud for about 5-10secs before settling down. The drawers and ...

Temperature display doesn't always work, otherwise so far, so good

by   wicamper ,  Jun 25, 2008
Pros: French doors, freezer on the bottom
Cons: Temperature display doesn't always work.
The Bottom Line: I'd shop around since it sounds like others have had issues in general and the display stopped working on mine, but don't plan on trading it in anytime soon.
Review: My husband and I purchased this refrigerator from Home Depot nearly 2 years ago. We decided on this model because it was one of the few refrigerators out there that would fit under the overhead cupboards in our house. Another reason for buying this ...

Has served for 1 year well, but...

by   yockeybuyer ,  Dec 30, 2007
Pros: spacious, attractive, relatively quiet, chilled water dispenser is inside the door
Cons: at least two design flaws which will inevitably hit you
The Bottom Line: This unit is still being sold. Would recommend purchasing another model.
Review: I have a model # PFS22SISBSS (note there are A, B, C and DSS models at least; the exact model is printed on the sticker inside the unit), purchased in Nov 2006 from Lowe's. Several months ago I had water run to the box for ice and chilled water. Use of ...

Nice but beware...

by   cajens99 ,  Jan 7, 2007
Pros: Beautiful, well laid out, spacious.
Cons: "Known problem" of ice maker.
Review: This is a beautiful fridge - we really love it EXCEPT... when you've got the bottom freezer pulled out and you pull the ice drawer out (to get an ice cube) the ice maker thinks the ice is low and releases a load of ice to the floor of the freezer, which ...

disappointing purchase

by   northofthe49th ,  Aug 17, 2008
Pros: Looks nice in our kitchen. Love the layout of the upper cabinet.
Cons: Very short life span.
Review: Purchased late 2006. In less than 2 yrs clip on left door broke. From what we've learned repairs are expensive and not reliable. The repair costs are very high for an item that appears to have no useful purpose. ??? Does anyone know what this clip ...

Warning about this refrigerator

by   petrusleonides ,  Jun 18, 2007
Pros: It's pretty.
Cons: Intensely bad mechanical engineering. Shoddy materials.
The Bottom Line: Avoid this model absolutely.
Review: We had this fridge in service 3 months when the left door latch broke. Long story short: called the GE service (a nightmare in itself) got this response from a call center woman: "That's the third call with this problem I've gotten this week.") That ...

DON"T BUY

by   shutse39 ,  Apr 20, 2008
Pros: Looks great
Cons: ICE MAKER IS DEFECTIVE!!!!!!!!!
The Bottom Line: DONT BUY ------> Ice maker is defective and GE will not acknowledge.
Review: First off, let me start by saying I sold all my 5000 shares of GE stock. The company has terrible communication between service techs and customer service reps. customer service claims there is no problem with ice maker on theses models and they have ...

***LOOKS LIKE A 10 BUT ACTS LIKE A MINUS 10***

by   choppertai ,  Sep 17, 2008
Pros: Matched all 6 other profile appliances in our remodel.
Cons: Poorly engineered & constructed. Not backed by company or extended warranty.
The Bottom Line: AVOID IT LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!
Review: We purchased this fridge 13 months ago and it quit working. Temp in fridge went up to 60, freezer 40-50. GE phone service line is a night mare. No one knows what is going on with your account ever. We also purchased the extended warranty which is ...

WARNING - DO NOT BUY THIS!

by   aidawes ,  May 25, 2008
Pros: I cannot think of one reason why anyone should consider buying this refrigerator.
Cons: Door latch, compressor, freezer, icemaker
The Bottom Line: DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.
Review: Purely the facts: We have had this refrigerator since September 2007. We have had to call GE five times. Twice for a broken latch, twice for the icemaker and once for the compressor. This morning, I just scheduled our sixth repair because the freezer is ...
