Godzilla vs. Megalon: The funniest movie ever made

by   WulfsDen ,  Aug 17, 2006
Pros: Dangerously funny. Don't watch it alone.
Cons: May prove hazardous to your health
The Bottom Line: Godzilla vs. Megalon puts the abyss in abysmal. It is a cult classic. Possibly the most unintentionally funny movie ever made.
Review: Bad Cinema is a simple concept. Some movies are so hopelessly, horrendously and heroically bad, that they transcend mediocrity. Their bad points become good points, and they gain a level of humor and entertainment that few good movies can ever achieve. ...

Megalon...."Gigan's come - who's side is he on?"

by   susidee34 , top reviewer in Movies at Epinions.com ,  Sep 6, 2000
Pros: please do not force me to answer this
Cons: I have 5 more movies to view
Review: Godzilla movies rating scale: 3 out of possible 10 - running a close second to Godzilla vs Monster Zero. With that - on to the tale..............Featured in this release we have Godzilla, Megalon, Jet Jaguar, Gigan, a whiny little kid and all the...

Ahhh... Oooh... Godzilla! Ahhh... Oooh... GASP!

by   abazur ,  Jul 15, 2001
Pros: Sha Na Na sings the catchy theme song.
Cons: Toho Studios: what's with them? Give them cameras and a budget and they go insane.
The Bottom Line: The real estate market in Japan is a tight one. Luckily, Japan's responsible civil zoning laws provide sufficient open space for much big lucky monster battle strike.
Review: This is a touching story about two men and a small boy. Wait a minute: that doesn't sound right. Godzilla Vs. Megalon (Japanese, 1973) How does one resist the primordial urges to throw their own feces at this movie? I know I couldn't. The ...

Giant Cockroach and a Grinning Robot

by   steelcorpfilms ,  Jan 27, 2008
Pros: Some good monster fighting, and Gigan is always cool.
Cons: A very silly plot.
The Bottom Line: While Megalon is a pretty cool baddie, and Gigan's in here, too, the whole thing gets really silly and the plot is just ridiculous.
Review: Apparently growing tired of having evil monsters show up from outer space, this time around, the new baddie Megalon comes from somewhere underground, where an ancient, highly advanced race of people called the Seatopians live. At the beginning of the ...

"Hey Look! I Found Some Funny Powder" Then I Smoked It: GODZILLA VS. MEGALON

by   xxxxer , top reviewer in Movies at Epinions.com ,  Feb 19, 2002
Pros: Nada
Cons: You name it, it's done poorly here
The Bottom Line: One mismatch of stock footage effects, a stupid story line, ridiculous dialog, dumb characters, hokey monsters...do you want me to keep going? Skip it.
Review: Jun Fukuda’s 1973 film GODZILLA VS. MEGALON is hands down the most worthless entry in Toho’s Godzilla series. There are numerous problems with this entry, the least of which being that there is one, count it, ONE new effects scene. All the other...

"I found some funny powder"

by   flash-hammer ,  Sep 14, 2005
Pros: As brilliantly entertaining as movies get.
Cons: As utterly stupid as movies get.
The Bottom Line: While quality wise, Godzilla Vs. Megalon is quite dreadful, it's also possibly the most entertaining movie in the series.
Review: Easily the most hated entry into the Japanese Godzilla series, Godzilla Vs. Megalon recieves a hell of a lot of stick from basically everyone. Despite this, it's a movie I actually look upon rather fondly, possibly because of my quest to see it. ...
