by   ragdoll21 ,  Feb 9, 2002
Pros: up to the minute fashion news
Cons: can be extreme
The Bottom Line: Setting the fashion and beauty trends before they even hit the runways, Harper's Bazaar is not a mag to be overlooked.
Review: I recently took advantage of my credit card company's offer of three free magazine subscriptions for a year. Seeing that Harper's Bazaar runs for just $8/year, I signed up. Visions of fashion and beauty danced in my head as I picked Harper's Bazaar....

Sophisticated and Hip

by   belindaga ,  Jun 7, 2000
Pros: inspirational style and fashion
Cons: none
Review: I have read Harper's Bazaar for years, but have been subscribing to it for just the past two years. This magazine has always featured high end, upscale fashions and targeted a sophisticated, mature readership. Even when I was a bit younger, I enjoyed...

Cover to Cover

by   forkids ,  Nov 29, 1999
Pros: Hip, informative, Excellent writing, fashion forward, reasonably priced for a magazine subscription
Cons: none
Review: Very slick, very hip, very cutting-edge. No, I'm not describing myself but the magazine Harper's Bazaar. This is the only fashion magazine I pay attention to anymore. I used to flip through a lot of them in my pre-kids days as I used to be a retail...

The NEW Harper's Bazaar: Kate Betts Works Wonders!

by   lvc613 ,  Jan 21, 2000
Pros: The new Harper's Bazaar is artsier and more modern.
Cons: Changes are sometimes hard to deal with. If you're a die-hard traditionalist, don't bother.
Review: Kate Betts, the new, young, hip editor proves a welcome addition to an old favorite! This month's Harper's Bazaar was unique because it is the first issue of the spunky blonde blond, Kate Betts. The first issue features a beautifully composed portrait...

Quite simply one of the best

by   matte_boy ,  Dec 19, 1999
Pros: Great, cutting edge reporting and photography
Cons: None that I can see
Review: It's certainly tough to beat the still running icon of style Vogue, but "Wow!" does Harper's Bazaar try. This is the second best 'Bible of Fashion'. Truly stunning photography, and the most current of high fashion make this magazine a real...

Harper's will be Bazaar unless You Want Nudity on Your Coffee Table

by   jo.com ,  Apr 18, 2003
Pros: Great for tips; beautiful clothes, well done articles.
Cons: 0 sized models, lots of ads, nudity.
The Bottom Line: This is a decent magazine for its genre. Much more down to earth than Vogue or Elle.
Review: I got a promotion for 5 free magazines. One magazine I chose to subscribe to for one year is Harper’s Bazaar. My familiarity with this magazine was limited to doctors’ offices and flipping through it at the gym.

...

Why A Real Man Should Read Harper's Bazaar

by   charles ,  Feb 9, 2000
Pros: Trends, high fashion, improvement of relationship
Cons: A bit too much of ads...why should I even complain? Hard to find what's advertised in the content
Review: Don't be ready to dismiss this magazine. Harper's Bazaar offers more than you would imagine. Each time my wife reads a good article about relationship improvement or relationship building, she wants me to check it out. If anything at all, these...

Hooray Bazaar

by   babs33175 ,  Apr 17, 2000
Pros: very high quality, great sensitivity
Cons: only published monthly
Review: I subscribed to Harper's Bazaar about six months ago. I had my doubts, since I had subscribed to women's fashion magazines before and was not very happy with the product.

What a relief! Harper's Bazaar is a really classy and intelligent...

Bazaar in a fashionable way!

by   siamesekitty9 ,  May 31, 2001
Pros: A wonderful, informative, fashion forward magazine.
Cons: Could use a few more articles.
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this magazine only to a person who is loves the fashion industry.
Review: Harper's Bazaar magazine is a wonderful magazine! For those people who enjoy staying up on the very hip clothing world, this magazine is for you. The pictures in the magazine not only feature the classiest yet hip fashions in a way that makes them jump...

A nice way to pass the time

by   sandybcal ,  Jun 9, 2007
Pros: Cheap price. Glamourous photos. Nice size.
Cons: No depth. Very thin models. Features very expensive items.
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this magazine for the fashions but not for the editorial content. Very shallow content. High fashion glamour.
Review: When I first subscribed to Harper's Bazaar it was for the low subscription price. The eight dollar subscription price for a fashion magazine lured me in. In the two years that I've been a subscriber I can honestly say that I have gotten my money's ...
