Everything you need!

by   rockmoss ,  Jun 14, 2007
Pros: Lots of hard drive space Lots of RAM Separate video card
Cons: TV card had hookup but no software for VCR
The Bottom Line: Hard to beat as the package provided great value. It also came with a 19" wide screen monitor.
Review: I had built my last few computers but I decided to go with a HP computer for a few reasons. I liked the value that they provided with software, great online help tech, and the Lightscribe feature on the DVD burner. I had tried another HP model but ...

An Absolutely Awesome PC !"

by   joecan ,  Sep 25, 2006
Pros: Loaded with Features, Lightning-Fast, Cost/Value, HP Customer Service, Ultra-Quiet
Cons: Perhaps not for the hardcore PC gamer who would face a challenge upgrading graphics card
The Bottom Line: If you've read my full review, there isn't much else to say. The m7680n is absolutely AWESOME and I highly recommend it.
Review: The HP m7680n is by far the best PC I have ever owned (I am on my 7th computer) for many reasons. I never thought I would buy a pre-configured PC again, but after a five-month nightmare with HP’s biggest PC rival (I’ll let you figure out who, but that ...

HP m7680n

by   el_guapo ,  Jan 6, 2007
Pros: Price, Performance
Cons: Cheap Video Card and Power Supply
The Bottom Line: The cheap video card, 300 watt power supply, lack of available slots and bays mars this otherwise excellent system.
Review: INTRODUCTION My old HP just couldn’t keep up with my needs anymore, and my spouse gave me the green light to upgrade. My normally meticulous nature was abandoned as I decided to make a quick purchase lest the eggnog wore off and she changed ...

HP Media Center

by   krystlc ,  Dec 8, 2006
Pros: Fast, large hard drive and TV guide is soo cool.
Cons: Loading time is still boring, about 1-2 minutes.
Review: Beautiful machine. This HP Desktop can do anything you throw at it. I'm running Windows Media Center OS, still a 32bit system, but so far everything is flawless. The machine does come with a lot of crap, but a good 30min of uninstalling and you're good ...

Good and Bad

by   katpiper ,  Oct 26, 2006
Pros: fast and quiet
Cons: lacks parallel and serial ports; wireless mouse is way too sensitive, hard to control.
Review: I'm into my 2nd week on my new HP m7680n and I've got to tell you I'm surprised at 2 things this PC doesn't have: a parallel port and a serial port. Now, you may think such ports are obsolete with all the USB stuff around, but I sure didn't plan on ...

Sick of Dell

by   rcjedavis ,  Aug 28, 2006
Pros: Great job of multi-tasking. I can run several apps while burning cd's or dvd's.
Cons: HP Support stinks. All they know how to do is reload the OS. Slow boot-up.
Review: I bought this computer to replace a Dell 8400 that is just over a year old and out of warranty. I bought the HP from Circuit City for around 1200.00 and spent the next several days coping my files and applications over. After I completed the copy I tried ...

Buyer Beware

by   krbtv ,  Jun 23, 2008
Pros: Fast
Cons: Hard drive, power supply, wireless mouse
Review: This was a great PC for the first 18 months. After a year and a half the hard drive has to be replaced and the power supply was replaced yesterday. I have had problems with the mouse eating batteries like candy. I have to change batteries about once ...

Short Lifespan

by   trackerdude ,  Mar 27, 2008
Pros: This was a great pc for the first year.
Cons: Beware Circuit City customer service - they won't talk to you without an extended warranty.
Review: This was a great PC which I frequently bragged on...until now. 13 months after purchase the computer would not power on. I bought the pc at Circuit City and took it to their Firedog for diagnosis. Power supply failure. Since I have read that others ...

Worse Computer Ever made...

by   rikster1 ,  Aug 7, 2007
Pros: Lots of bells and whistles. Multi-tasking was much improved over my 4yo system (Sony Vaio).
Cons: Computer & Customer Support suck. So far 35 days of downtime in 7 months.
The Bottom Line: Avoid HP Computers!!! Customer support is scripted and lacking. Hey HP!!! Ever heard of Fedex or UPS overnight?!?!? Or maybe the recovery discs should have been included with the system.
Review: I've owned this soon to be boat anchor for about 7 months. First of all, this m7680n was dead out of the box. Had to wait 23 days to get a set of recovery discs. Recovery discs worked that time. Two months later the wireless keyboard & mouse die. ...

Stay away from this product

by   lbesser ,  Nov 13, 2008
Pros: HP Media Center plugs into the frame for convenient backup (you'll need it)
Cons: Dismal reliability. Terrible "support" from India.
Review: I bought two of these computers and had terrible experience with both. System Recovery was used at least a dozen times during the past two years and both machines were sent back to HP's Service Center. I had to re-install all my programs many times. Both ...
