Best baby carrier for around the town!

by   Ralleia ,  Oct 10, 2004
Pros: Can see baby, comfortable, one arm totally free, baby gets to interact, easy to use.
Cons: You're got one fully mobile arm and the other is like a vestigial T-Rex arm.
The Bottom Line: This is the easiest to use and most versatile baby carrier I have, the best for running multiple short errands about the town.
Review: I own four baby carriers--one front only carrier (t he EuroRider), one back/front carrier (the (E rgo Baby Carrier), one body sling (the Maya Wrap), and this one. I've used all ...

Hip Hammock ~~ A Terrific Baby/Child Carrier!

by   threecutiepies ,  Apr 23, 2004
Pros: Most of baby's weight is on your hip so easier on shoulders/back. Very cute.
Cons: Maybe the price......but it *is* worth it!
The Bottom Line: Best baby product I have bought. I highly recommend this. My baby loves it too.
Review: Where do I begin?? OK.....toss out your Snugli carrier. Maybe even your Maya Wrap Sling and Over The Shoulder Baby Holder (I have reviews on those two slings too). If your child is at least 14 pounds and can straddle your side (at least two months ...

Great carrier!!

by   sanka_03 ,  Nov 13, 2006
Pros: Comfortable, easy on back and shoulders, fits wide variety of sizes
Cons: Only 1 free hand, straps dangle
The Bottom Line: This is the best carrier I've found. It's comfortable and easy-to-use for everyone. I highly recommend the Playtex Hip Hammock!
Review: The Playtex Hip Hammock is a baby/child carrier that allows you to carry your baby on your hip, rather than on your front. It's a very comfortable and natural position to carry baby in and it allows you to have your hands free. It can be used when baby ...

by   nhmommy ,  Sep 25, 2005
Pros: Easy to use for both mom and dad, comfortable for baby.
Cons: None
The Bottom Line: Highly recommend this product, easy to use, looks good, portable, washable
Review: I recently purchased this product after seeing a couple of mothers in my moms' group use it for their babies. What a great product! I took it right out of the box in the store and used it while I shopped for other things. There are 2 steps to ...

Best Carrier for busy mommy who wants to bond with baby.

by   tresmom17 ,  Jul 25, 2005
Pros: Comfortable for mom and baby, easy to use, trendy design, compact, relatively inexpensive
Cons: Dangling straps
The Bottom Line: It is so easy and comfortable to use.
Review: My husband likes to go out a lot and stay out for hours. This makes carrying a carseat inconvenient and heavy with a 17 pound baby in it and who isn't content in his stroller. I was really excited about this product when I had found it online. We have ...

The best $40 I've ever spent!!

by   ma2ed4 ,  Aug 16, 2006
Pros: Very portable. Much easier to use than other front carriers. Baby is secure.
Cons: The straps are very long for petite moms. It pulls on your shoulder a bit.
The Bottom Line: Highly recommended! In my opinion, it is more secure than slings and easier to use than front carriers.
Review: I cannot recommend the Playtex Hip Hammock enough! I bought this product for a recent trip and it was a lifesaver going through 3 airports with just my baby and me. I didn't have to worry about a stroller in a crowded airport and my hands were free to ...

A great alternative to front carriers--esp. for bigger kids!

by   txbabaians ,  Jun 13, 2003
Pros: My daughter loved it! Allows you to cuddle and comfort, hands free!
Cons: Neck strap requires frequent adjustments. Getting sleepy baby out is a little difficult.
The Bottom Line: great for people whose babies are above 15 pounds. The front carriers I've used cause too much back and neck strain.
Review: My daughter loved it! She fell asleep in it our second time trying it out. I could finish dinner, va ...

Best thing I ever bought!

by   littledebs ,  Mar 8, 2005
Pros: well padded, comfy for baby & mom, easy to get on.
Cons: Dangly straps for short moms; padding may be too warm in the summer.
Review: Baby Bjorns are find for the newborn or young baby. As they grow and need less snugling, this item is great! Once I had the straps adjusted to me, I found it very easy to put on unlike the Bjorn or the Snugli. Just one snap at the waist and an ...

Wonderful Product!!

by   madelynsmom ,  Jul 12, 2006
Pros: Very durable, comfortable for parent and child, easy to use
Cons: Lots of extra strap material
Review: My daughter just turned one year old, weighs 21 pounds and is 31" long. She is not very happy in her stroller all of a sudden and wants to be held when we're out and about. I'm 5'4" and about 120 pounds and can't hold her too long without feeling like ...

GREAT product.

by   shelbysmommy ,  Apr 17, 2006
Pros: MUCH easier to carry a heavy baby!
Cons: Non, really!
Review: I LOVE this product. I purchased this about two months ago at Target. I think it was about $35. I am very petite, and I also have had back surgery and it is getting harder and harder to lug around my 11 month old daughter! I'm always scared I am going to ...
