Attractive and efficient...gets the job done

by   dennisfan ,  Nov 12, 2005
Pros: Attractive, portable, adjustable thermostat, built-in safety features, cheaper than using the FURNACE!
Cons: No handle
The Bottom Line: This attractive unit is cheaper than using the furnace and effectively warms average-sized rooms (less than 200sq. ft). The built-in safety features also give me a little peace-of-mind.
Review: Living in the Midwest, and with gas prices through the roof this year amid predictions that heating bills could TRIPLE this winter, I've rapidly become a paranoid, anal-retentively-obsessed lunatic when it comes to our heating and electricity bills. ...

I like it

by   ladybug4789 ,  Nov 28, 2004
Pros: Heats closed area well
Cons: Somewhat loud, iffy thermostat, cord & unit get hot
The Bottom Line: I like this product. Somewhat loud, but heats a closed space well, shuts off if tipped, and very simple to use.
Review: I like this space heater. Compared to the ancient one-direction space heater or the convection space heater sitting in the closet at my mom's house, this one works very well. It will heat up a room quickly (in less than 15 minutes) - *if* the door is ...

Honeywell Surround Portable Heater - Did It Pass My Tests?

by   mountainhigh ,  Jan 19, 2005
Pros: Long 7 foot cord; surround 360 degrees blow heat
Cons: No sideways tipover switch; not as warm as my smaller heater; no carry handle
The Bottom Line: It is okay but there are better ones within that price range.
Review: This past week the temps dipped below to minus 20 degrees, it snowed heavily, and we lost power. We have our home set up quite well when we lose power since we have a generator that is directly wired into the home and we have a wood furnace for the heat ...

Honeywell Surround Heat Heater......Turn Up the Heat

by   kamel622 ,  Dec 16, 2003
Pros: Child Resistant Power Switch, Shut Off Fuse, Thermostat Control, Automatic Turn Off if Tipped
Cons: Unit becomes hot to touch, No carrying handle
The Bottom Line: The Honeywell Surround Heat Heater HZ-2200 is a good inexpensive way to add a little more heat to a room.
Review: I have a love/relationship with portable heaters. I love them when they are working and help to keep me warm. I hate when I can’t find a good one that will do what I need one to do. A bit of background (feel free to skip down to ***) ...

Not So Hot...Unimpressed.

by   kelkc1123 ,  Jan 29, 2009
Pros: Cheap--around $25 at Target/Walmart-type stores.
Controls are "child proof".
Cons: Doesn't properly heat even a small room.  The top gets hot. Awkward to move.
The Bottom Line: Doesn't heat well, not impressed.
Review: I bought this cute little guy to help heat the area by my desk.Since it has the Honeywell name, I chose it over a rather large selection of space heaters available at Target.  We live in an old house and the room where my desk is located ...

Cheap Walmart Appliances Gone Wrong

by   stephen744 ,  Oct 29, 2004
Pros: Cheap. Small. Light. Simple to use. Thermostat. Powerful.
Cons: Wakes you up in the night like rapid constipation. Makes air smell like constipation too.
The Bottom Line: Please don't buy this. It's exactly like turning on a blow dryer and leaving it in the corner of the room to heat it. Really.
Review: My goodness. I had such a horrible experience with this POS, that I had to go on the net to write this review and save some poor, unsuspecting buyer from wasting time to even consider this infernal piece of plastic. I bought this at Walmart for $25 ...

Pass on this

by   earlmale ,  Nov 8, 2004
Pros: cheap
Cons: loud, bad thermostat control, doesn't heat all that well
Review: I bought this heater b/c it was cheap and it looked like it would be OK. I have used it for 2 days and I will be returning it. First of all, this unit is LOUD!!! It is just not a pleasant thing to be near b/c it is so loud. Another huge thing is ...

Possibly Defective... Certainly a Lemon

by   patrat55 ,  May 6, 2009
Pros: Attractive
Cons: Won't stay on long enough to heat any size space, No handle
Review: I bought this heater at Wal-Mart and to Wal-Mart it shall return.  I needed it to heat a small room and bought it because of the Honeywell name and it's an attractive unit.  On it's lowest setting it wouldn't even heat a small closet and on ...

Honeywell Mini Tower 2206

by   kangaroocourt ,  Dec 18, 2007
Pros: Looks like a coffee maker - I like coffee.
Cons: This thing is not only cheap, it's cheap and dangerous.
Review: Got this at Target a little while ago, and it will be going back asap. Model 2206 does not have the "directional" (180/360 degree) option - 360 heat output all the time.. Tip-over safety has 2 positions where it continues to run, while on its side. ...
