Well, at Least One Room in the House is "Warm"

by   scmrak ,  Dec 12, 2005
Pros: convection heater with shutoff timer, digital thermostat, fold-out handle; simple assembly
Cons: faulty wheel, cheesy "burlwood"
The Bottom Line: The timer and digital display alone are worth the extra $10-15, though you do have to look at the fake walnut
Review: Awww, geez! The mercury hasn't crept above freezing around here in a couple of weeks; natural gas prices are going through the ceiling, and the Ms is at home all day on vacation (meaning that our setback thermostat* is being overridden). That's not to ...

Honeywell Oil Filled Electric Heater

by   oldzip ,  Nov 26, 2005
Pros: A good reliable source of additional heat. FIVE year warranty!
Cons: I don't like the plastic wheels.
The Bottom Line: If you need additional heat in a small area, consider this one.
Review: Now that we're into the cold weather you find out where the cold spots are in a new home. I spend a lot of time in my den and like to keep that room toasty warm while saving a little on the heat bill over the rest of the house. I decided on an oil ...

My first radiant heater- I like it!

by   scippy88 ,  Dec 13, 2005
Pros: Nice looking heater. Easy to use. Digital timer, thermostat, power level.
Cons: None so far!
The Bottom Line: Seems like a good purchase. Will have to see what the longevity on these things are. I'd be happy to get a few good years out of it.
Review: I live on the West Coast so our winters are not as bad as the rest of the country but we don't like natural gas bills any more than the rest of you. I have used those little tiny fan blown heaters in the past but they seem so drying that I decided ...

Good and Not So Good

by   becca66 ,  Jan 8, 2006
Pros: compact, does not rob the air of oxygen, emits even heat
Cons: temperature reading is erroneous and seems to be sporadic
Review: I purchased the heater after reading several 5 star reviews. I chose to look past the "cheesey" fake burlwood and go for performance instead. The heater is a great size and does the job. The only problem is understanding the temperature settings. I am ...

Not very durable

by   coldinky ,  Jan 3, 2006
Pros: nice looking, thermostat setting, auto shut off
Cons: takes long to heat up, not durable
Review: I bought this heater and set it up for use. It seemed to take a long time to heat up but once it got going it made some impact on the room temperature. It was only really comfortable if you were quite close to it. The surface of the radiator got very ...

Run away from these heaters

by   bstruckm ,  Nov 3, 2007
Pros: Looks high quality - Honeywell name is respected
Cons: CRAP CRAP CRAP - Don't buy
Review: I bought one for my infant daughters room to help supliment the heat. After a few weeks of use it started acting up, would turn it'self off randomly, and ignore the thermostat setting and heat up to 90 degrees. Kaz replaced it free under warranty. ...

Not a hot deal

by   whatdat ,  Apr 12, 2006
Pros: 5 year warranty?
Cons: warranty replacement not as good
Review: This is not a good quality heater, the HZ-710 I bought kept shutting itself off 5 minutes after I turned it on. I sent it back and they replaced it with a cheaper model (HZ-690). When I called them on it, they said the HZ-690 sold for the same ...
