One Killer Fish

by   rj64299z ,  Feb 17, 2001
Pros: Value for money, killer looks, roomy front interior, superior handling, macho engine sound
Cons: Lousy rear view and side mirrors, steering column height adjust, cargo hatch design, cheesy dashboard
The Bottom Line: If you're looking for a small, sporty car and are prejudiced against Hyundai, go and test drive one. You may be pleasantly surprised.
Review: Our 10 year old Civic CRX was finally starting to croak after 210,000 miles, so we were faced with the inevitable: Finding a new vehicle that would live up the character of our beloved little Honda. Mrs. RJ, the primary driver, wanted a hatchback, and...

Best in its class.

by   livewire_ ,  Feb 20, 2001
Pros: Price, options, style, handling.
Cons: Looks so sporty and Porsche-like you might expect too much from it.
The Bottom Line: If this is the class of car and the price range you're looking at, the Tiburon should top your list of cars to research, examine and test drive.
Review: For the purpose of clarity, this car was purchased and driven in Canada.

Before I made the plunge, I researched the hell out of this car and everything in its class and price range. My final two came down to the Chrysler Neon and the Hyundai...

Wonderful Car at a Wonderful Price

by   tygerstyle ,  Feb 13, 2003
Pros: Great value, very attractive, reliable, clear & crisp sound system, long-term warranty
Cons: Stock tires make too much road noise, bad seat belt retraction, low performance
The Bottom Line: I recommend this car for anyone who's looking for a stylish sports car at a very reasonable price. Not if you are looking for performance though.
Review: Update: 4/12/04 I've owned my 2001 Hyundai Tiburon for 2 years and I have no regrets in making my choice. My first choice for a car was the 2001 Toyota Celica because I was into it's stylish look. The price was a little out my range though. I did a ...

Value priced sports car

by   delilah4 ,  Aug 28, 2001
Pros: Great looking, sporty, fun ride that is very economically priced with a great warranty.
Cons: Noisy and a little cramped.
The Bottom Line: Overall, if you are looking for an attractive sporty looking car with a nice zippy ride, all wrapped up in an inexpensive package, this car is for you.
Review: We recently purchased a 2001 Hyundai Tiburon and have not regretted our purchase for one second. Although we have a toddler, my husband and I figured that we already had a mini-van and that it would make a great second car for us. While it does have a...

"Rose Is Rose" 's Biker Mama has NOTHING on me!

by   mamapaul ,  Sep 27, 2001
Pros: fun and sporty but affordable, including modest insurance rates
Cons: more power in next year's (2002) will mean higher insurance rates
The Bottom Line: For a very reasonably priced car with modest insurance, it's a great deal and a whole lot of fun to drive.
Review: My friends call me anal retentive. Deciding to buy my new car was no exception - I spent about a month researching new cars, what I liked, what I didn't like, what it would cost, what fellow Epinionators thought. The Hyundai Tiburon didn't even make my...

A technical point of view...

by   romanval ,  Oct 27, 2001
Pros: Sleek design, Teriffic handling, lots of gusto (5-speed), well equipped.
Cons: Stock tires lack grip. Poor cup holder placement. Not many after-market parts (yet)
The Bottom Line: A fine car for those looking for handling prowlness and great styling for a bargain price.
Review: I've had this car for over 6 months now (since May 2001) and it now has 7000 miles on it.

Styling
At first the styling struck me as unconventional, but I grew to like it a lot. The front end is very contemporary; Round headlights that...

by   damijan ,  Jan 24, 2007
Pros: everything else A big toy for a big boy
Cons: wheel bearing soft stock tires loud transmission
The Bottom Line: I recommend it. Because it's fun to drive it. It's a great car for two and durable. Bad quality of material but good assembly.
Review: I was fresh out of school...worked in crappy restoran for a year...then went to a different restoran, moderate salary and got myself some junk, just to drive myself to the job(20 km away). Then i wanted to buy a new car... I was going to buy myself a ...

2001 Hyundai Tiburon

by   dlk33 ,  Sep 22, 2001
Pros: It's fun to drive, it's an affordable sports car, it's got bang for the buck.
Cons: None I can think of yet.
The Bottom Line: I'm becoming a believer in Hyundai. If my opinion changes, I'll be back with an update in the future.
Review: Hey, what can I say negative at this point? I finally got a sports car. I fell in love with my cobalt blue Tiburon when I first saw it at the dealership. I test drove the other car I was interested in, a Ford Focus which drove ok, but the Focus got put...

Poor mans porshe

by   ananth ,  Dec 29, 2000
Pros: reasonable pricing
Cons: Interior
Review: This car has great looks and an impresive performance for each dollar you spend. I used to work at a car dealership so i had the chance to drive the hyundai, kia and other name brand cars. On those who are having mid life crisis this car won't make...

Better than any Honda!

by   hajnika ,  Dec 16, 2000
Pros: sleek, fun, fast, corners well
Cons: noisy engine
Review: More comfortable than an Audi A4 and faster than the Honda Civic. Although Honda happy people often try to take me on (even when i drive the Audi!, the Honda dealers must really mislead their customers!). A lot more fun and corners better than the bulky...
