A Great Whiskey

by   smoke0845 ,  Nov 17, 2005
Pros: The taste, the bottle, the label.
Cons: None.
The Bottom Line: Jack Daniel's is a must-try Whiskey along with Jim Beam.
Review: I've read Epinions guidelines on deleting and re-posting a review. Mine's has a 100 word difference, so it's postable according to the Epinions guidelines. I've tried just two types of whiskey, Jack Daniels and Jim Beam. Slash of Guns N' Roses ...

Jack Daniels Is My Drink of Choice

by   cmuir ,  Apr 24, 2000
Pros: Everything
Cons: The Country Cocktails leave a bit to be desired.
The Bottom Line: Jack Daniels is one of the best whiskeys out there. Plus most bartenders can't screw up a Jack and 7.
Review: When my husband and I go out for the evening in the small town near which we live, my drink of choice is Jack Daniels. Although I love margarita's it is impossible to get a descent one here, so a safe drink to order is Jack Daniels. I order mine with ...

Jack Daniel's Whiskey: El Diablo

by   psugrowler ,  Jan 3, 2001
Pros: Cures what ails you
Cons: None
Review: At the young age of thirteen, Jack Daniel bought out his partner, a Lutheran Minister, at the whiskey still. Arguably, this day back in 1866 was perhaps the most revered in all of American history. The distinct flavor in Jack Daniel’s sour mash...

Jack Daniels - This is THE whiskey of the rural mountains.

by   CyndiA ,  Jul 10, 2001
Pros: Best whiskey in the world.
Cons: Don't drink the whole bottle at once.
The Bottom Line: The United States is generally not known for unique spirits, but Jack Daniels is pure Americana.
Review: Jack Daniel knew his whiskey. He grew up in the Tennessee mountains where moonshining was an honored profession. In fact, seven-year-old Daniel learned to make whiskey from a lay preacher who made spirits on the side. When the preacher decided to...

My bar always has Jack on hand ...

by   autoamerican ,  Dec 4, 2004
Pros: Incredible aroma/flavor/color, great start and a wonderful bite at the end
Cons: Sweet by most peoples' standards, more expensive than other whiskeys
The Bottom Line: An American institution, incredible aroma/color/taste and the best start, leading to a wonderful bite in the end, that I've ever found in a whiskey.
Review: Jack Daniels No. 7 Tennessee Sour Mash Whiskey ... whether you're a whiskey guy/gal or not, I can guarantee you've at least heard of it and seen the famous square shaped bottle if you haven't tasted it. Started in 1866, this distillery has become a part ...

WHISKEY SESSIONS: Volume III: Your Old Friend Jack Daniels

by   Mr.Eyore , top reviewer in Restaurants & Gourmet at Epinions.com ,  Oct 18, 2000
Pros: For a non-bourbon, it's the definitive bourbon
Cons: It's not as good as you're convinced it is
The Bottom Line: There's a reason he's your old friend
Review: This is the third in what I hope will be a series of reviews of Bourbons and those whiskeys which are commonly classified as Bourbons even though, strictly, they are not. I intend to limit myself only to those whiskeys commonly available in the United ...

Jack n Dew....

by   DeRango ,  May 29, 2000
Pros: Whats not to love???
Cons: EXCUSE ME!!!! WELL I GUESS THE DEATHS CAUSED BY BOOZE...
Review: Last night was a doozie! My parents were out of town; boy did I get well acquainted with Jack. In fact I’m with him right now, the bottle is staring at me. That first taste---smooth, strong, tongue ting-a-ling flavor; I couldn’t resist buying my own...

Greatest Whiskey Of All Time?

by   lansky2000 ,  Jun 3, 2000
Pros: Greatest whiskey of all time...
Cons: Jack by knockout in the third round...
Review: This is the ultimate whiskey, people. Its slightly smoky flavor, beautiful amber color and Mike Tyson-like hook are often the last things you will remember as Old No. 7 beckons you to hop aboard and take a ride you'll never forget.

Word of...

Ohhhh memories....

by   shan1 ,  May 11, 2000
Pros: It only takes two or three shots to knock me out...
Cons: JD is definitely a *acquired* taste...
Review: Ahhhhhh....good ol' JD. JD helped me have my first (and only)hangover, introduced me to the world of *drinking games*, and won my $100 when my ex-roomie said I couldn't drink a triple finger shot w/o pausing (she was wrong and I was 100 bucks...

The definitive whiskey...

by   casey_cnk ,  Sep 26, 2003
Pros: Famous, not that expensive for a premium whiskey, smooth, and it tastes great.
Cons: None that I can think of... but everyone has different tastes, so try it.
The Bottom Line: THE definitive whiskey, Jack Daniel's is loved by rock stars and those with fine taste the world over. Get a bottle today!
Review: Jack Daniel's. Is there a more legendary brand when it comes to spirits? I think not. The black label with its white text is commonly associated with rock 'n' roll -- you can still, to this day, see David Lee Roth swig Jack Daniel's from the bottle at his ...
