Love My Jeep

by   mooresites ,  Feb 24, 2006
Pros: Great engine response (4 Liter), tight build, go anywhere in it
Cons: 2 adult limit on longer trips, noisy on interstate (even with hard top)
The Bottom Line: If you're itchin' to get a Jeep, get a 1997 or higher. 1998 model is very solid.
Review: I wanted a "Real Jeep" since I was in high school. Unfortunately, the folks weren't buying, so I had to stick with the hand-me-down. I did catch a small break by getting a used 1992 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I loved that vehicle all the way to 1999 when I ...

Jeep Wrangler: For A Select Few (Not Me)

by   solpo ,  Nov 7, 2000
Pros: It's a Jeep!!!
Cons: Everything else
Review: When it was time for my wife (then girlfriend) to get a car, she wanted a Wrangler. After test driving a Rav-4, CR-V, Explorer, Cherokee, and two Wranglers, she bought the Wrangler.

It was a purple Wrangler SE (4-cylinder) with a hard top,...

its a jeep, drive it like one!

by   gottaloveajeep ,  Jun 23, 2005
Pros: power, simplicity, great offroad, go topless and doorless!
Cons: EFI, no diff-lock stock, no winch stock, cant fit any bigger than 31" tires stock
The Bottom Line: if you dont understand the 'jeep thing' leave it for someone else, otherwise go for it
Review: i am really sick of hearing people complain about how bumpy jeeps ride, and how noisy they are...if you are driving the jeep on a road, yes...it will be noisy and bumpy. what i want to know, is if you are only going to drive the vehicle on a road, why ...

Go For It!

by   pacr31 ,  Jan 8, 2000
Pros: Great suspension
Cons: changing the roof a little bit of a hassel
Review: When My son asked for his first car and he wanted a jeep i was a little bit skeptical in puchasing one due to the safety hazards everyone hears about. Many people say that they are not safe SUV's because they have the tendency to flip over, and...

by   nate_dawg ,  Dec 10, 1999
Pros: Its great standard features
Cons: Only seats four people
Review: This MUST HAVE SUV is loaded with fun. It easy handling makes it good on the streets and its outstanding suspension makes it a great off roading car. It is always fun to ride in. My family has one, and its a great car that gets fairly good mileage....

Love it!!!

by   jsheffield ,  Jul 16, 2000
Pros: power, 4X4, clearance, roominess, fun
Cons: gas mileage, perceived lack of adult vehicle, hidden jealousy in others
Review: I'm a teacher in upstate NY, and have to drive through horrible conditions frequently throughout the winter. When I moved here, I was driving a Saturn, which I loved, but which lacked a certain something when driving through deep snow and over icy...

98' Jeep Wrangler

by   Ice ,  Nov 27, 1999
Pros: It is an all around enjoyable vehicle
Cons: It can only have 4 people in a seat belt
Review: The 98' Jeep Wrangler that my family has is the coolest car you could ever wish for. It is a combination of a small luxurious type of car with an attitude for driving off road. It is so much fun to ride in. Ever since we got it, we can't stop riding...

Its a Jeep Thing!

by   dj-tech79 ,  Aug 7, 2002
Pros: It's Always more fun when you go topless!
Cons: Gas mileage
The Bottom Line: If your torn between a convertible and an SUV...get a Jeep Wrangler.
Review: It's a Jeep thing...what else can I say? I just purchased my first jeep several weeks ago and I must say...I LOVE IT! It took me a little while to get used to the extra gas I am using but for all the Pros I will survive.

I must say that the...

Hard/soft top considerations and an option you may not have thought of

by   steinfeld ,  Dec 16, 1999
Pros: With dual tops, each eliminates inconvenience of the other
Cons: Can be costly
Review: Here’s an option for Wrangler tops you probably haven’t heard or thought of if you’re considering the dual top option: buy your Jeep with a soft top, then buy an after market hard top. The dual top option that is available for Wranglers is an excellent...

Never Had So Much Fun

by   MekDust ,  Dec 31, 1999
Pros: A convertible without the price, affordable, saves gas
Cons: Sometimes windy in the back- can be overcome though, no luggage room with passengers onboard- add a rack
Review: So, you've decided to buy a jeep. Might I recommend you stick with the newer models? They have a better suspension, heating system, and stereo system. Anything after 1998 model year will satisfy you and your family. One of the surprising...
