KitchenAid KHB100 Handheld Blender~A Quality Appliance At An Affordable Price

by   Ladysmom ,  Jun 13, 2004
Pros: Works very well when used properly
Cons: Doesn't crush ice the way I think it should.
The Bottom Line: A quality appliance that will last a long time. Works well and very dependable.
Review: Around this house we are blender crazy I think. We seem to go through the handheld type faster that most people go through peanuts. We use them for everything. Chopping ice for drinks, ham for ham salad, chicken for chicken salad, mashed potatoes, ...

An amazing Blender for little $$$. Just don't crush ice with it!

by   eagle04 ,  Sep 29, 2005
Pros: The best handheld blender we ever had. Works perfect. Cleans Easy
Cons: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CRUSH ICE, THE BLENDER PROBABLY BREAKS DOWN!
The Bottom Line: My subjective opinion is that this is a darn good blender and worth buying.
Review: We are using the KitchenAid KHB100 for over 6 months now and have a lot of valuable information about this KHB100 Handheld Blender for anyone who considers buying one. We recently bought our second one because we accidentally destroyed our first KHB100 ...

A sturdy blender -- and addictive!

by   clskeen ,  Dec 10, 2005
Pros: Sturdy, powerful, effective, and easy to clean.
Cons: Might just make your regular blender obsolete.
The Bottom Line: This blender is a solid deal. Don't hesitate!
Review: I really wish I'd gotten one of these sooner! Instead I feel as though I have wasted years struggling along with my regular blender, trying to make pesto, hummus, smoothies, etc., with only limited success (constantly having to stop the action in order ...

Highly recommended!

by   h2ou8n4 ,  Aug 22, 2005
Pros: Simple to clean Variable speeds Long cord Bulletproof KitchenAid quality
Cons: Can be noisy at higher speeds
The Bottom Line: Easy to use, easy to clean, inexpensive, reliable. Buy it.
Review: We found this little gadget while searching for bargains on http://cheap.typepad.com/. I have never been much of fan of blenders, for the same reason as not being a fan of food processors -- lots of cleanup for only a couple seconds work. This blender ...

I'll Stick with this KitchenAid Blender

by   jenniferkateab ,  Apr 22, 2008
Pros: Stainless immersion stick and blade, comfortable handle doesn't slip out of my hand
Cons: Makes great purees but lumps can remain if you're not thorough
The Bottom Line: Works well blending cooked soups, gravies and purees right in the pot (off the heat, of course). Saves time and fewer dishes to wash.
Review: I will freely admit to the world ~ I'm a gadget girl. Some chefs boast that they suffice with a bare minimum of tools for all their cooking tasks. Well, I'm a sucker for all types of single purpose, specialty tools which perform their duty precisely and ...

The Blender Dramatically Slims Down to a Stick - News at 11

by   jackai ,  Aug 17, 2008
Pros: Sleek, convenient to use and does practically the same job as a blender.
Cons: Still a little heft to it and I'm not keen on crushing ice with this.
The Bottom Line: The KitchenAid Immersion blender does practically the same job as any stationery blender with less hassle and easier clean up. It's a solid appliance for anyone's kitchen.
Review: I'm sure traditional blenders have their place in a true chef's kitchen, but for this lazy bachelor, my trusty, but clunky Cuisinart has been gathering dust ever since I purchased the sleek and slender KitchenAid handheld immersion blender. I ...

Best of the conusmer grade immersion blenders.

by   bkalafut ,  Jul 1, 2008
Pros: Easy to clean stainless steel shaft. Blade guard does not scratch pots.
Cons: Plastic internal gears, plastic splines. Somewhat short cord.
The Bottom Line: The KHB100 is easy to clean, and its nine speed settings render it quite versatile. It's powerful and durable enough to do nearly anything one would want, except crushing ice.
Review: To purchase an immersion blender superior to the KitchenAid KHB100 (or the equivalent KHB200 and KHB300, which merely come with more accessories) is like purchasing wrenches better than Craftsmans. It can be done but for ...

Like it, but not the strongest blender.

by   teddysmum ,  Feb 3, 2008
Pros: Nice machine.
Cons: Not long lasting motor if you're regular user.
Review: I bought this a few years ago for $50 and I quite liked it. Until it died on me last week. It's the second Kitchenaid brand blender (other the professional mixer) that had problems. I ditched the other mixer and bought a Bosch, which I must say, is a ...

Kichenaid Submersion Blender KHB100

by   vicdave ,  Oct 1, 2008
Pros: Blends and purees with ease. General surface cleaning was easy. Ergonomics were great.
Cons: Durability is low. It cannot be fixed if drive shaft fails.
The Bottom Line: Do not buy.
Review: I purchased the KHB100 blender in July of 2004. It performed admirably for making homemade mayonnaise and aioli. I used it for pureeing homemade smoked tomato soup and smoked tomato sauce which with the variable speed was not a problem. It was not used ...
