Paid $3,500 for mine. Happy so far.

by   montegibson ,  Aug 4, 2008
Pros: Durable, affordable, comfortable
Cons: Nothing to get panties in a wad about.
The Bottom Line: Buy an ES300 (after doing your due dilligence, as always)
Review: I purchased my fully-loaded ES300 Coach edition with 131k from a fellow who buys cars from auctions, fixes and resells them. I am a very cautious and skeptical buyer and don't get in a big hurry to buy. I was apprehensive about the fact that it was ...

Best car ever?

by   ACKMA228 ,  Apr 1, 2000
Pros: Ride, safety
Cons: price
Review: We purchased this car used in September 1999. Friends assumed it was brand new! The ride is the smoothest imaginable. The leather is like the LS400's. The stereo is incredible, the controls are easily accessible and user friendly. There are so many...

Never gets old

by   dennyw ,  Jan 1, 2003
Pros: Tight and quiet. Reeks of quality.
Cons: Back seat is a little small.
The Bottom Line: If you want a car that is as tight and attractive with 100,000 miles on it as it was with 15,000, Lexus is the move.
Review: I bought this car with 60,000 miles on it and it now has 112,000. Just as tight as a new one. Paint is still glossy, no rattles, leather looks almost new. My wife now drives the car, as I bought a used LS400. If there is a more quality-built car than...

Comfort and a smooth ride...

by   iarlin ,  Oct 10, 1999
Pros: A relaxing trip and less sun glare than most cars.
Cons: Not much
Review: My father bought his 1996 Lexus ES300, fully loaded when it was new. At the time, I thought it was a waste of money, which could be better used (in my view) buying stuff for me. But I really can't complain anymore. He has had this car now for four...

Wonderfully smooth ride

by   sarajoey ,  Nov 27, 1999
Pros: great luxury car
Cons: none
Review: We bought a used Lexus ES300 for a great price, only had 40,000 miles on it and was in great shape. This car is almost too comfortable!! The leather seats are so supple and the design of the seats is incredible. When you sit in one of the front seats,...

CPO 1996 Lexus ES300 Purchase Rationale

by   NRAYee ,  Dec 14, 1999
Pros: 1996 Styling, Smoothness/Quietness of ride, Customer service
Cons: Not a brand new vehicle--a few minor dings--slight smell of cigarette smoke which I aired out after a few weeks of driving with the moon roof/windows down. A used '96 ES300 is likely to have at least 36,000 miles on it as of Dec. 1999.
Review: In early 1998, I was considering a brand new '98 Toyota Camry, '98 Honda Accord, or a certified pre-owned (CPO) Lexus ES300. After test-driving all three, I decided on and purchased a 1996 CPO Lexus ES300. The deciding factors were the smoothness and...

Solid/New Car Feel !

by   mc3027feb ,  Dec 2, 2000
Pros: COMPLETELY BUILT WITH QUALITY
Cons: NONE
Review: I purchased my black ES-300 in Dec '99. The car was black w/ tan leather interior and has a 6 unit CD changer located in the trunk. It has a moonroof and had 63,000 miles on purchase. It currently has 75 k miles. It drives and looks brand new. I...

The Best Investment EVER!!

by   TonyVA ,  May 31, 2000
Pros: Incredible Styling, FAST as hell, Cushiony ride.
Cons: Can't find a blasted one! :-)
Review: My Lexus by far is the best car I have ever had the pleasure of driving and owning.

I started looking at Pre-Luxury cars because I wanted something that had status and an excellent history of reliability and comfort. I test drove the 2000...

Want Safety, Reliability, and Luxury? Go ES300 Style!

by   Xsider ,  May 18, 2000
Pros: Luxurious comfort, Quick and Nimble Performance
Cons: Price, Additional Accessories Cost A Lot
Review: The ES300 has been evolving for some eight years now adding to its tremendous list of luxurious ammenities as well as its powerful engine. As Lexus commercials have often tried to demonstrate, the ES300 is very quiet as well as smooth. Additionally,...

Daddy's Best Girl

by   hermioneg ,  Jan 3, 2000
Pros: It rides and drives smoothly.
Cons: If you like to drive trucks or cars with bumpy rides, you will not want a top of the line luxury car.
Review: Daddy's best girl before me in 1976 was his corvette. When my little sister Jilly was born, he decided that it was not a practical family car, and took it to a car show where it was sold. I will never forget riding in it. Because sports cars are not...
