by   Rock_On ,  Aug 24, 2003
Pros: easy set up, easy installation, great tech support for trouble shooting
Cons: firewall can be the root of mostly any problems with the router
The Bottom Line: Linksys is a great company, and it shows through their BEFSR41 Router.

Easy networking for the PC novice.

by   luclin999 ,  Mar 4, 2002
Pros: Simple, fast, great documentation.
Cons: Can't really say I've found any so far.
The Bottom Line: If you are setting up a small network in your home, this router will serve you very well!
Review: Recently, my girlfriend and I moved into a new home together. This changed us from being two, one PC homes into one, two PC home. That being the case, when it came time to get our systems connected I had to go shopping around for a few new items to get...

Linksys BEFSR41: Networking for Dummies (Like Me)

by   happy2000usa ,  Sep 8, 2002
Pros: A joy to install! Easy on the pocket book, but versatile and very reliable.
Cons: No onscreen warning when DSL connection fails. Firewall/antivirus is built in, but an extra expense.
The Bottom Line: A great, inexpensive router for the home LAN. It lacks some features of more expensive models, but as far as I'm concerned, it's the best bang for the buck.
Review: My friend Nate is a techno-junkie. He's pushing 85 this year. That's both in age and the number of toys he has plugged in at his home. He won't be happy until he has a telephone and a speakerphone in every room. When he hangs up a phone, they all...

Connect your home network to the Internet

by   quidoo ,  Aug 27, 2004
Pros: Easy set up/tech support/setup wizard (cd) with a complete user guide/works with any ISP (cable/dsl)
Cons: cost roughly $60/not wireless
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this to anyone looking to home network their DSL or Cable modem who isn't worried about wireless connection.
Review: Allow me to start out by explaining what a router is. A router is used to interconnect networks and route information between these networks. In the case of a home network. The router connects your LAN local area network to the Internet. If you ...

Share and share a like.

by   Guildencrantz ,  Sep 17, 2002
Pros: Easy setup. Firewall with NAT, port forwarding.
Cons: None.
The Bottom Line: The router is easy to setup, and stays up. With the four-port switch you probably won't need any extra hubs or switches and the firewall will keep your machines safe.
Review: Every year somebody asks me where they can get a hub for their computer network. Every year I ask them why they need a hub, and every year I get the same answer: "Our cable/dsl was just installed and we need to share it with the [insert number here]...

Pros: Easy set up; best high quality-cheap price router; Features galore
Cons: Port 1 gets disabled for using Uplink port
The Bottom Line: Broadband connection: $40 a month. Router: $54. Being able to connect 4 computers in 1 house with ease: priceless.

Share the internet

by   nickscarano ,  Apr 16, 2008
Pros: SHARE INTERNET WITH NO SPEED LOSS
Cons: none yet.
The Bottom Line: Secure, safe, firewalled internet and network tool.
Review: If you have more than one computer in your home or office, and you pay the price for high speed, then you need to share the wealth. There are a couple of ways to do this, but in my opinion the fastest and most secure way is with a wired router. A router ...
