Beautiful thing

by   kcranmer ,  Dec 13, 2003
Pros: Plug and Play. Zero configuration. Small form factor. Nice design.
Cons: None
Review: Hooked this right up to the Xbox right out of the box. Zero configuration. Playing from Hawaii with friends back in Jersey. Noticed dropped packets with internet service (roadrunner). This piece of hardware is not at all responsible. Originally had ...

Linksys Wireless-G Gaming Adapter: Bring Your Games Back Online

by   kjell1979 ,  Jan 4, 2006
Pros: ease of use, portable, convenient, supports both 802.11b/g formats
Cons: price, tough to use with non-Linksys equipment
The Bottom Line: It's a portable ethernet port.
Review: **I accidently put my original review on the wrong product, so if you're seeing this again, that explains why.** I never really wanted to switch to wireless internet access in the house. I always felt that doing that would add a needless bottleneck in ...

Not recommended.

by   crackshot ,  May 25, 2005
Pros: Actually (finally) works after much coercion.
Cons: HISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Laggy gaming Hard to set up if you enable any semblance of security.
Review: I bought the WGA54G for convenience and "lag-free gaming." I'm pretty damn slick when it comes to networking, and electronics in general. It took me no less than an hour to get this device to "see" my WLAN. Requires a firmware flash before it can be ...

Terrible Product, Worse Support

by   textperts ,  Apr 3, 2004
Pros: It can be returned.
Cons: Poor design, worse customer support.
The Bottom Line: Find a Linksys WRT54G router, add the Sveasoft firmware hack to boost output to 84mW, and then threw it into "client" mode. Will work better than the the WGA54G
Review: Wow! What can I say about this product? History: I’ve been using Linksys products since 1998, and have had nothing but great experiences. I’ve referred many folks to spend the extra money on a Linksys, as it was the “Cadallic of home ...

Linksys WGA54G Wireless Game Adapter is Junk.

by   sidwalton ,  Feb 28, 2005
Pros: None. The product is worthless.
Cons: On a secure network, it's junk. You won't be able to even get it working.
The Bottom Line: Please don't purchase this product. It is a very poor product and to get it working you would have to remove all security from your wireless network.
Review: I'm a long time fan of Linksys wireless equipment and my home network consists solely of Linksys products. I have always been pleased with the quality and security of the Linksys products. When I purchased the Linksys WGA54G Wireless Game Adapter, I ...

Intermittent and unpredictable

by   cw_iiic_dt3000 ,  May 11, 2008
Pros: Good concept
Cons: Unreliable connection
Review: I've had wireless working flawlessly from a Linksys router to a Buffalo network access point for a couple years. Bought the WGA to support an isolated computer and I find it terribly frustrating. I can't link signal level or time of execution to ...

WARNING! Steer Clear.

by   littlerock03 ,  May 1, 2005
Pros: Returnable!
Cons: Terrible customer support, lack of knowledge about product.
Review: As with other reviews concerning this product, I am too a fan of the Linksys products. However this unit does not work properly. First of all, let me tell you the setup. I'm running the WRT54GS Linksys router with speedbooster, v3.37.6 firmware. ...

Linksys Tech support

by   rammgod ,  Sep 25, 2005
Pros: not much of any that can come to my mind
Cons: TOTALLY lacking and obverse
Review: Where: from India/Pakistan Expertise: obviously reading from a poor manual and only tier 1 exists..they get hostile when you ask for a tier 2 or higher opinion. Communication: How can it be worse than poor: Try Linksys tech support and you will ...
