Pros: Great hero/villain conflict; riveting battle scenes; Anthony Quinn!

Cons: Sometimes poor sound quality.

The Bottom Line: After "Lawrence of Arabia" this is the best desert war epic as seen from an Arab point of view.

Review: This is one of those rare obscure masterpieces that deserves much more attention than it got in the U.S. It probably didn't help that the real-life hero, Omar Mukhtar, was an Arab freedom fighter in Libya, not exactly one of the most popular countries...
