WITH MAGELLAN MAESTRO 4250 - YOU HAVE ARRIVED

by   aawehr ,  Nov 9, 2008
Pros: Ease of Use and re-routing. Simple voice commands.  AAA points-of-interest and AAA TourBook built-in information.
Cons: Shortest route can make for strange routes.
The Bottom Line: We LOVE the Magellan Maestro 4250!
Review: I have wanted to buy a GPS for some time now, but how do you know what to purchase?  I started out shopping for a Garmon, but purchased the Magellan Maestro 4250 after comparing features and reading product reviews.  I am a ...

Safety In Speech

by   nachodehopkins ,  Feb 17, 2009
Pros: Voice control, Bluetooth
Cons: Poor on-screen sensitivity
The Bottom Line: While Magellan couldn't get everything quite polished, they did try to get everything into this unit.
Review: A friend of mine, eager to show off his new toy, recently gave me a few days with his new Magellan Maestro 4250. As I have said before, most of these GPS units come with the same standard features and it is really the presentation of those features and ...

Nice features fro the price

by   peterfreedom ,  Aug 13, 2008
Pros: Lots of nice feature for the price Screen quality Voice recognition
Cons: Must plug power on the side to power it Can't rotate head of holding support
The Bottom Line: Buy it if you have a great price like 250$. You won't have all those feature in a Garmin for that price.
Review: I bought this GPS just before going on a 3500 km trip around the Gaspesia region in the Province of Quebec in Canada. Had no time to study all the features but it was very easy to learn. I was already familiar with a Garmin Nuvi before. One of the ...

Pretty cool GPS but still gonna return it...

by   arthurbou ,  Jul 15, 2008
Pros: Great GUI, when it works, it works great.
Cons: Has some software bugs that need addressing. I'll try a TomTom next...
Review: Well, I bought this from Costco for 300$ for a road trip from Ottawa Ontario to Baltimore MD. It worked quite well most of the time and the voice recognition was better than expected. Routing and rerouting was done reasonably fast and the signal was ...

Nice unit but comes with old maps

by   mdktm ,  Oct 2, 2008
Pros: Easy to use, lots of features
Cons: Old maps pre-loaded
Review: The unit itself if nice, but then I noticed it comes with 2007 maps and newer 2008/2009 maps are available. I called and will be getting the new maps "free" but still have to pay $10 shipping. That is much less than the $80 the maps would cost, but I ...

Review: Bought it in February 2008, didn't use it until June 2008. It broke within 3 weeks. Won't charge. Have to send it back for repairs. I'm buying a Garmin c340 for about $300 ...

BUYERS BEWARE******

by   shopwise99 ,  Jul 21, 2008
Pros: it looks nice
Cons: many listed in the review
The Bottom Line: I would not recommend this product. It and it's company is not reliable.
Review: THIS COMPANY IS NOT ONE YOU WANT TO BUY FROM OR DEAL WITH! I bought a brand new gps online, and after I received it, it malfunctioned on the 2nd day of having it! It was stuck on a settings screen—unable to be used. I tried to reset it, but it was ...
