A bait-and-switch review

Pros: First-rate performance (1961).
Cons: Distinctly less wonderful performance (1977).
The Bottom Line: The 1961 Bernstein (not 1977) is a great recording of a colossal masterpiece. Sony sells is for a song. What's not to like? Rating: 6 stars out of 5.
Review: This CD is an undeniably good performance ... BUT! DG has chosen to spread the symphony (105 minutes) over 2 discs with a combined capacity of about 160 minutes, and they provide no filler. And the price...!!!$$!!! The question may be asked, however ...
