Second Mainstream Shot. Still Going Strong.

by   killacam1 ,  Sep 15, 2003
Pros: Beats. Lyrics. Xzibit is one gifted man.
Cons: Possibly a couple of beats like on Restless.
The Bottom Line: If u bought Restless and liked it. U will definitley like this one too. No doubt about it.
Review: I had real high expectations for this one and it was put back more times than i have had hot dinners. So i really succumbed to the hype for this album and seen as his last effort was almost a masterpiece i was expecting this one to be a masterpiece. Let ...

"Man Vs Machine": Xzibit's attempts to finally conquer himself.

by   paulyoungotti , top reviewer in Music at Epinions.com ,  Oct 10, 2002
Pros: Rugged flow, tight delivery, supreme lyrics. Varied beats. Some guests.
Cons: Some disasters. Some guests. Where are The Alkaholiks?
The Bottom Line: "Man Vs Machine" proves that X can juggle between commercial and underground with more than a little success - just not perfectly.... yet.
Review: It would be fair to say that the jury is about to finally decide on Xzibit. The time has come to really combine his searing rugged style and lyrics with the new commercial fame his affiliation with Dr. Dre has given him, with a really ...

Man vs. Machine - Can Xzibit destroy the mechanics of commercialism and ressurect himself?

by   bigd99999 , top reviewer in Music at Epinions.com ,  Jul 7, 2003
Pros: Hard Lyrics, Some Excellent Production, Good Guests
Cons: Some Commercialism, Some Weaker Moments, Some weaker beats
The Bottom Line: Xzibit returns to his old style on Man vs. Machine
Review: Xzibit has always been a classy emcee. His rugged flow, hardcore lyrics, and thought-provoking subject matter has ripped through his two older, yet above average albums At the Speed of Life and 40 Dayz & 40 Nightz. However, in ...

Man Vs. Machine: Xzibit Tries To Break The Encryptions

by   DVON , top reviewer in Music at Epinions.com ,  Oct 8, 2002
Pros: Great lyrics, variety of topics, fairly good production, some original moments.
Cons: Some commercialized tracks, poor guest appearances.
The Bottom Line: This isn't the classic you've been waiting for, however, but it's a big improvement over Restless.
Review: One thing I’m sure many Hip-Hop heads have noticed is that Xzibit has always fallen short of the mark from making a classic LP. In 1996, At The Speed Of Life would have been classic, but some lacking production held it back from achieving a...

"There'd Be No West Coast Without Me!": X to the Z Multiplies

by   the_carnage ,  Jul 9, 2007
Pros: Typical Xzibit material - rough, raw and rugged
Cons: a few weaker songs, could have been a lot better
The Bottom Line: For the Xzibit/Aftermath/West Coast/Hardcore rap fan
Review: ”There’d be no west coast without me!” Back in 2002, who could blame Xzibit for claiming that? The hype around Dr. Dre’s 2001 had worn out, Snoop hadn’t had a major hit in years, The Game hadn’t even been discovered yet and almost ...

Bigger, stronger, faster, built to hurt: X to tha Z returns with 'Man vs. Machine'

by   Boffie ,  Oct 26, 2002
Pros: Tighter MCing, good beats, some awesome tracks.
Cons: Guests in general, a couple of shockers.
The Bottom Line: A flawed, though remarkable album that is recommended without prejudice.
Review: Hip-hop these days is like walking a very thin line. There are two sides - commercial and underground; some cross over in a big way - ahem, Nas - and some prefer to stay put on their side. There are still more who walk this line like a tight-rope,...

Has Xzibit overcome the poor shambles that was restless? Find out...

by   andrewtarr ,  Dec 15, 2002
Pros: Fantastic beats and rapping. Good guest appearances.
Cons: Get tiersome after regular use. Some poor lyrics.
The Bottom Line: Xzibit really shines on this one flowing from song to song with excellent compulsive rapping. Good beats produced by Dre. Shame about some poorer tracks later on in the album.
Review: A couple of years after Xzibits last release Restless, Xzibit literlly kicks himself back into the limelight with his brand new album Man vs Machine.

Man vs Machine, straight from the moment you put it on has Dre (Dr Dre) written all over it....

Has Xzibit realy gone back to his roots

by   thuglife666 ,  Nov 12, 2003
Pros: Some great songs
Cons: Some not so great songs
The Bottom Line: Get if u like some strong beats and some good songs. Just skip the average tracks
Review: Xzibit, one of the west coasts finest has taken to all to common road in hip-hop. After releasing an amazing first album and an above average second album, Xzibit moved into the commercial rap genre with his third release Restless. Although this CD may of ...

X: CD IV

by   konspirator01 ,  Oct 6, 2002
Pros: the quality you've come to expect from Xzibit
Cons: i was expecting the unexpected
The Bottom Line: A slightly disappointing effort from Xzibit, but there's still plenty to nod your head to.
Review: I’ve always liked Xzibit. He has a gruff voice to back up his razor-sharp rhymes. In my opinion, he sounds even tougher than someone like DMX. Sometimes you find that although you’ve listened to an ordinary song several times already, you...

Bad, What more can I say?

by   dren710 ,  Feb 26, 2004
Pros: It's X, the intro is nice
Cons: Beats, most lyrics
The Bottom Line: Don't buy this unless you are a huge X fan.
Review: X to the %!$#@$ Z is a tallented emcee with a RAW delivery. He sounds great on some comercial beats, but this CD is just crap. Just about all of the beats are way over produced and sound like garbage Dr. Dre had and decided to pawn it off.. His first ...
