Masters of Metal |
|||
|
Pros: Everything that makes Metallica great is right here.
Cons: riiiight...
The Bottom Line: Metallica's finest hour
Review: While I have given five-star ratings to several Metallica albums, there is one that I believe exceeds the greatness of even those classics. Master of Puppets< b>< i> not only contains all the elements of a great Metallica album - hard-hitting ...

Metallica's finest moment and proof of Cliff Burton's importance to the band

Pros: One of the best damn metal albums ever released. Period.
Cons: The band never recovered from the death of Cliff Burton.
The Bottom Line: Gripe about the current version of Metallica if you want, but give the band credit for delivering a hell of a disc with this one.
Review: Go ahead and call Metallica what you want. Call them sell-outs, greedy bastards or whatever else crossed your mind. However, it's hard to argue that the band recorded some bone-crushing metal when the group was in its prime.
While this is one... |

Metallica Monologues: The Puppets Speak |
|||
|
Pros: According to their instruments, Metallica were both beautiful and cruel.
Cons: Instruments can't really talk, but wouldn't it be cool if they could?
The Bottom Line: It's widely acknowledged that "Master of Puppets" is one of the great metal albums of all time. But what do Metallica's instruments think of it?

Metallica Masters the art of developmental thrash |

Pros: Eight unfaltering tracks
Cons: [blank stare] Cons?
The Bottom Line: If you like Metallica at any phase, this is an album you need to own.

Metallica Are The Masters, We Are The Puppets |
|||
|
Pros: One of the best metal albums...ever.
Cons: Only eight songs?
The Bottom Line: The Bottom Line thinks that long hair is for girls. He would even say that to Metallica's faces. Because he's a tough guy.
Review: Now, I will readily admit to not being much of a Metallica fan. In fact, until about a year a ...

Brutally sophisticated - METALLICAs ultimate paradox

Pros: METALLICA brings the best of both worlds - rawness, sophistication - to the apex!
Cons: Cliff is dead...no more Orions in the future!
The Bottom Line: The apex of METALLICA - it´s all about sophisticated sonic violence, a definite body of work in both lyrics and sound. Life is cruel...but good to listen to.
Review: Kill Em All was the defining Thrash Metal record. Ride The Lightning, a remarkable improvement in songwriting and performances, leading to astonishing complexity for a band so rooted in Thrash Metal. So, what was left for ...

Pros: Great lyrics, awesome riffs. Everything on this album is great.
Cons: No way. Not one thing.
The Bottom Line: The ultimate Thrash metal Album, with only Slayers Reign in Blood challenging it's greatness. The undisputed classic.
Review: Master! Master! That line would have to be one of the most famous metal chants ever, and Master of Puppets is probably the best Metal album ever recorded. After their last album Ride the Lightning people knew that Metallica were more than just ...

Pros: The album
Cons: ?
The Bottom Line: A Thrash masterwork, by the Masters of Puppets
Review: Master of Puppets is a rare beast. Some albums have huge hype but never really fulfill the listener. (for an example, refer to Nickelback, a personal grudge of mine) But Master of Puppets, the bands third release, follows the path that their first two ...

Pros: Beautiful instruments, Orion bass solo, classic album.
Cons: No more Cliff Burton.
The Bottom Line: Classic.
Review: Yeah, Metallica. I've mentioned before that I never liked these guys, I've hated them and never liked any of their music. Everytime I would listen to the radio and a Metallica song came on I'd be like "Aww this sucks" and listen anyway, and I know that I ...

Pros: Exemplary songwriting, brilliant lyrics, sheer perfection
Cons: none
Review: (Note: If this topic seems familiar to you, it should be. My very first review on Epinions was for MoP. Alas it wasn't very good so I've decided to delete it and rewrite. Feel free to turn back now if you wish.)
