A Meteoric return

by   punkrawka , top reviewer in Music at Epinions.com ,  Mar 20, 2003
Pros: More of the same kind of brilliance; uncompromising power with many influences
Cons: Only the ones you may have seen in their debut
The Bottom Line: Once again, Linkin Park sets the standard for rap-metal. This album proves that they're no passing fad.
Review: It's impossible to deny it now: rap-metal, love it or hate it, is here to stay. And riding the very front of the wave is a band as loved and hated as the genre itself: Linkin Park. When the six-man unit debuted with ...

Chester's Hotness Reaches Meteoric Proportions

by   broomqueesha , top reviewer in Music at Epinions.com ,  May 17, 2004
Pros: Chester is still hot; they remain faithful to the sound that made them famous.
Cons: Not enough pictures of Chester in the booklet.
The Bottom Line: And the Chester Bennington obsession continues...
Review: The Main Idea: Linkin Park's second proper studio effort, Meteora, was delivered in the spring of 2003, and fans welcomed it with open arms. If you liked Hybrid Theory, then you'll love this record because it doesn't stray from the ...

Better than Hybrid Theory? Quite Possibly

by   Dragyan ,  Mar 26, 2003
Pros: Same unique sound, but taken to the next level.
Cons: Like Hybrid Theory, it ends too soon.
The Bottom Line: This album goes beyond being a worthy follow-up to Hybrid Theory; if you're an LP fan, go buy it now.
Review: I've liked Linkin Park since before they became "big." I bought Hybrid Theory before all but a few people even knew who Linkin Park was. With that in mind, I don't want to hear anything negative said about me because I like Linkin Park, despite...

Meteora: Good, but doesn't live up to Hybrid Theory's legacy

by   swordofriva ,  Sep 7, 2004
Pros: Good lyrics, DJ Hahn whoops on the tracks, some good Shinoda verses
Cons: Bad Shinoda verses, real bad Brad, and lack of creativity and subject matters.
The Bottom Line: Buy this CD if you're a hardcore fan, someone trying to get into LP, or you're just interested in LP as a casual guy. Otherwise, get Hybrid Theory.
Review: As those of you who have read my profile know, Linkin Park is, by far, one of my favorite bands of all time. Their hard sound, amplified by DJ Hahn's skill behind the turntables and boards, always gets me pumped and ready for whatever the world is gonna ...

Comin' at ya from every style...

by   limpkid ,  Feb 8, 2007
Pros: More varied approach, both vocally and musically, gets better with each listening, no weak tracks
Cons: A little less energetic than Hybrid Theory, Somewhere I Belong has not aged as well.
The Bottom Line: Linkin Park are the perfect band in the Def Leppard mode-enough edge for rock fans, and are poppy enough to get played on Top 40 radio. Something for everyone.
Review: As I am stoked for the new Linkin Park disc to come this spring(considering how I've been waiting four years), it occurred to me that not only have I not written a review of any kind for a year and a half, but that I never gave their last CD, Meteora, ...

Another Classic From Linkin Park

by   linkiedtheory ,  Mar 30, 2003
Pros: Better than Hybrid Theory in terms of lyrics and overall sound.
Cons: Possibly the only con is its 37 minutes long.
The Bottom Line: Totally what I expected and more. Recommended even if you've never listened to Linkin Park!
Review: Just A Note: This Review was made on the "Limited Edition" version.
--
Whether Linkin Park likes to admit it or not, they've done something right. With their debut CD "Hybrid Theory" selling over 14 million copies in the US and Worldwide, it...

Meteora

by   istoleit ,  Sep 1, 2004
Pros: Very easy to get into, catchy, maintains its quality, variety
Cons: Guitar playing, two fillers
The Bottom Line: If you're hesitant about buying it, just buy it.
Review: After listening to Linkin Park's debut rap/metal album Hybrid Theory over and over again-and enjoying every second of it--I picked up Meteora without a moment's hesitation. And, fortunately, it didn't disappoint. Many critics have said that only ...

Rap-Metal returns in full effect

by   punkrocker666 ,  Mar 3, 2004
Pros: Much improved song over previous releases, Mike Shinoda, three glorious singles
Cons: None
The Bottom Line: Linkin Park outdo all other record attempts, and this ends up being their best album to date.
Review: I had fond memories of Linkin Park's first album Hybrid Theory, and with this in mind, I traveled to my nearest Circuit City to pick up Meteora earlier last year in April. I had already heard rave reviews about the newest release, so without hesitation ...

Linkin Park is Back!

by   estj ,  Jul 2, 2003
Pros: New Material, Some Great Songs, Packaging
Cons: Some songs are difficult to get into, Length
The Bottom Line: If you like Linkin Park, the Limited Edition is a must have. If you don't, chances are Meteora won't sweep you off your feet.
Review: Linkin Park's sophomore effort, Meteora, is by no means a dissapointment. The album, while continui ...

Nobody's listening??!?

by   lptheory ,  Apr 1, 2003
Pros: new sound, lyrics are just as deep, just very well done
Cons: the sound kind of jumps around a bit, from soft to LOUD.
The Bottom Line: It's for every mood and is everything that Linkin Park represents. Their lyrics catch you, you sing the tune in your head and you get addicted. It's that good.
Review: Actually, the only reason the title sounds negative is because I am listening to the song as I write this. I want to make it clear that while many people feel that Meteora is a rewrite of Hybrid Theory, it is QUITE the opposite.
