The Bottom Line: Buy this game, you will not be disappointed!

You Play for the Experience

by   t13monkeys ,  Feb 27, 2007
Pros: vastly detailed world, unique simulation game, great multiplayer
Cons: dull soundtrack, lack of story, use of racial stereotypes
The Bottom Line: Crackdown provides a new gaming experience that combines the best of simulator games, but is lacking in story and design.
Review: When Crackdown was first announced it received little press by itself, so Microsoft decided to sweeten the deal by including Halo 3 Beta to people who bought Crackdown. From there, many gaming sites reported the Halo 3 Beta on sale with free Crackdown ...

Crackdown > Halo 3 Beta...Yeah I Went There

by   awoolcott , top reviewer in Games at Epinions.com ,  Jun 10, 2007
Pros: Puts fun over almost everything else, very unique game design
Cons: Driving many of the cars is clearly inspired from a day in Hell
The Bottom Line: You'll probably be able to find this in the bargain bin real soon once the H3 beta ends and all the Halo nerds sell it off.
Review: More than anything, Crackdown is an example of minimalist game design. Though touted as a superhero version of Grand Theft Auto – no surprise given that the mastermind of Crackdown was the same guy who created GTA – the only thing the two have in ...

Crackdown for the Xbox 360: Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon of the Future

by   cobadee ,  Feb 21, 2007
Pros: Halo 3. Leveling up is fun. If not laggy, its fun online.
Cons: Missions lack creativity and are boring. Not much to do other than missions.
The Bottom Line: The fun leveling system makes this game just slightly above average. The missions just lack any sort of depth or creativity and get very boring.
Review: So what are some good ways of making a game sell? Dragon Quest 8 included the Final Fantasy 12 demo. Zone of the Enders included the Metal Gear Solid 2 demo. Perhaps including a multiplayer beta for the sequel to the most popular video game of the past ...

There really isn't much to do in Pacific City other than eat, drink and kill

by   hist ,  Apr 16, 2007
Pros: Fun concept, love jumping around and killing things
Cons: Not much else to do, annoying mentor
The Bottom Line: Crackdown is a fun game that lacks variety
Review: Look alive, Agent! The populace of Pacific City is terrorized and they need your help! In Microsoft's Crackdown, you play an unnamed genetically-modified super-agent who has to rid the city of three gangs and their evil warlords. This is a ...

Time To Crackdown

by   maddogdenny ,  Feb 27, 2007
Pros: Exploration, leveling up, just plain fun
Cons: Could use a little more depth
The Bottom Line: Though somewhat short, this is a buy, and shows that you can still have fun being the good guy.
Review: I've been noticing a pattern in the games I've reviewed lately. Most of them have earned four stars, instead of the coveted five. This is indicative of the games we're getting. We're getting games that are consistently really, really good, but they ...

Crackdown Xbox 360: More Than Just a Halo 3 Pack-In?

by   seraphim_z ,  Feb 26, 2007
Pros: Great artwork; fun gameplay; leveling system is executed masterfully; when it works, good co-op play.
Cons: Missions are repetitive and lack creativity; story is a jumbled mess; campaign is painfully short.
The Bottom Line: Crackdown is a quality action game that is a blast to play, but contains some flaws, mainly with story structure, a lack of imaginative missions and a brief campaign.
Review: Crackdown is Microsoft's first foray into the world of 'sandbox' gaming, which was popularized by Grand Theft Auto III back in 2001. Since then, many pretenders have challenged the originator. Some completely blew it (True Crime: Streets of L.A.) while ...

Crackdown - Not a heavy meal, but a tasty, tasty dessert

by   jkafer ,  Feb 23, 2007
Pros: addictive gameplay, lots of exploration, great powerups, fun explosions and fights
Cons: Main mission isn't very long, but so what? Get out there and explore!
The Bottom Line: Crackdown will never be described as a deep game. But it is amazingly addictive and always fun.
Review: The Story of Crackdown is a simple one. You are an unnamed agent in the Pacific City police force. You have undergone DNA manipulation which makes you stronger than a normal man. The gangs of Los Muertos, Volk and Shai-gen are running the city and it’s ...

It's CRACKDOWN packed in with Halo 3 Beta!

by   nkretz ,  Feb 24, 2007
Pros: Fun game play, a good go anywhere do anything game`
Cons: Lack of any structure and story line
The Bottom Line: If you like GTA but you were a super human then you might enjoy this game. But hurry because the disks with Halo won't last forever!
Review: Microsoft is a very clever little company. Package a fairly good game with a fairly hyped beta (for arguably one of the best gaming series ever) and you have a winning combination. Crackdown comes packaged with a free invite to the Halo 3 multiplayer ...
