Pros: works over long distances / clear sound / overall great
Cons: like cell-phones small and easy to lose / runs through batteries fast
Review: The motorola talkabout two-way radios are just a breakthrough for the average family. They can fit in your pocket and reach someone that is around two miles away depending on where you are. These are a giant step up from those old walkie-talkies that you...

Pros: Good reception, A ton of uses, getting cheaper
Cons: A tad expensive, Get a model with the call feature
Review: Why weren't these invented sooner? I had walkie talkies as a kid and they were fun, but they were never quite good enough to be really useful. Motorola has improved on the old walkie talkie and has a winner here. Luckily they're getting cheaper every...

Pros: Size, Clearness, Price
Cons: None so far
Review: Why I bought them:
Quick story...I was at an air show with my mother and a friend. It was packed. About 80,000 people showed up that day to witness the planes doing amazing tricks. My friend and I wandered off to look at other planes for... |

Pros: Range, clarity, convienence.
Cons: None
Review: I recently used the Motorola Talkabout+ on a trip to Disney World in Orlando, FL. I have nothing but good comments about this product. On the trip down, my friend and I used them basically to not be bored. We were on two different buses travelling in...

Pros: Quality built, Good Range
Cons: No Scan button on FR60!
Review: I bought 3 Motorola FR60 Talkabouts and 1 289 Talkabout and they are some of the best radios I have ever used! Maybe they don't go the 2 mile range in the city and around buildings but they sure will in open areas!
I just wish the FR60's had the... |

Pros: Small,Compact, Ease of Use, Valuable Tool
Cons: Kids Don't Always Keep Them On
Review: The Motorola Talkabout Plus is a great radio for the price paid. It is the serious "Walkie-Talkie". I have used it outdoors and indoors. Outdoors it works the best if you are in "line of sight" with the person you are talking with, on...

Pros: A great boon for familys, certain business applications
Cons: No rechargeable option or car power cord as advertised. The controls have been improved on later units.
Review: We grabbed a pair of the TalkAbout+ model radios early after the FRS technology became readily available. We had been drooling over the leaflets we found at our local electronics superstore which outlined the radios and all the accesories you could get....

Pros: long range, clear audio
Cons: lacks advanced features
Review: These new FRS band radios are indispensable. You can't imagine how useful they are until you actually have one. The audio is very clear, the range is outstanding (up to 2 miles), and they are fairly compact. I use mine almost every week for a variety of...

Pros: Good quality, good range/battery life, ease of use, variety of accessories
Cons: no rechargable battery, no scanner, no scrambler
Review: A few years ago, I bought a bunch of TA+ radios for use skiing. Since then, they have had many more uses. They claim a 2-mile radius (which I have not been able to test but is about accurate), but as long as you're in the same general area as the other...

Pros: Can be used on many occasions
Cons: Performance is greatly depleted when battery is used a bit
Review: I have tried all the two-way walkie-talkie systems and the Motorola TalkAbout is by far the best. With a sleek look, 14 channels, 2-mile capable distance and 38 privacy codes the TalkAbout ranks up on top. If your family or a group of friends...
