Pros: a great break from reality, makes you wonder if there sould be someone that looks just like you
Cons: if you don't like science fiction, this one is not for you
Review: Could you imagine losing parts of your day that you cannot remember? And, on tape recorder you hear your voice saying, I need...I need...I need repeatedly for seven entire minutes? And you have no recollection of this time?
Could you... |

Pros: Great depth of characters and plot.
Cons: A little slow in the beginning
Review: Mr. Murder is an excellent novel. A writer suddenly has psychic feelings that something will happen to hurt him and his family for the rest of their lives. As Marty takes us through a few days of being a budding star as a writer, he also introduces us...

Pros: Great story, characters. Possitive underlying message.
Cons: Some of the usual Koontz formula.
Review: Imagine living a comfortable, familiar, almost complacent lifestyle, and having it turned upside down in one day. Some of us take comfort in knowing that after a hard days work, we can count on coming home to a loving family, or such mundane pleasures as...

Pros: keeps you on the edge of your seat, great story telling
Cons: you can't put the book down
The Bottom Line: Great thriller, one of Koontz's best.
Review: Imagine you are a writer, in a midst of writer's block you awaken to find that you were in a fugue state. You come to the realization that you have been awakening from the fugues much too often lately. Time has lapsed in your day and you don't remember...

Mr. Koontz's Mr. Murder-Not His Best, But Worthwhile

Pros: likable, realistic characters (well, most of them), engaging plot, action
Cons: unrewarding, glib ending does not fit well with pace of rest of the novel
The Bottom Line: Although it pales in comparison to Intensity and other works by Koontz, this is still an extremely enjoyable and worthwhile read
Review: Martin Stillwater is the author of horror/mystery/murder novels, but in a million years he could never imagine the story that his family will live through within the page of Mr. Murder by Dean Koontz.
Marty is married to Paige, a... |

Pros: A fast paced novel with wonderful characters and shear suspense that will grip you from beginning to end.
Cons: A plot that has come before by a more famous author.
Review: In 1989, Stephen King published a novel about an author whose evil doppelganger appears and attempts to kill him and take over his life. The name of this novel is The Dark Half. Five years later, Dean Koontz published a novel about an author whose...

Pros: The book is intense and humorous
Cons: The end was kind of ridiculous
Review: I just want to comment on this book and the sort-of-a run along to the movie (w/ Stephen Baldwin and Julie Warner). I own the book and the movie. I loved both but when I seen the movie on ABC (or CBS) their was A LOT more to it then from the VHS edition....

Pros: Easy to read.
Cons: Recycled characters, plot, and situations. Superficial characters, impossible ending.
The Bottom Line: An impossible tale, even for fiction.
Review: My first statement here is I like some of Dean Koontz' books. My second statement is I don't like some of his books; that includes Mr. Murder. What don't I like about it? Just about everything; the plot, the characters, the...
