Mix a lot of girl power with a little teen angst and get New Moon!

by   modernmarvel , top reviewer in Magazines & Newspapers at Epinions.com ,  Jun 30, 2003
Pros: Girl power and positive values, no ads
Cons: Only 6 issues a year and the subscriptions is expensive
The Bottom Line: New Moon is a fantastic magazine for girls ages 7-14.
Review: We recently got this subscription as a gift for my 7 year old daughter. Since the magazine only comes out 6 times a year, the giver also sent along a handful of back issues. On the inside cover page, the issuer describes the magazine: New Moon . . . ...

The best girls' magazine you've never heard of

by   Verbivore ,  Oct 10, 2000
Pros: No advertising; doesn't force girls to grow up too soon
Cons: Lack of sponsors drives the price up
Review: "Expect the best from a girl...that's what you'll get." -- that applies to their reading material, too.

New Moon Rising

Inspiring girls to reach for the moon

by   SkylarDelaney ,  May 17, 2000
Pros: encourages girls to be themselves, to follow their hearts
Cons: more expensive than most magazines (definitely worth the price though!)
Review: I read New Moon all throughout my teens, and now that I'm 21, I love it so much I just can't stop!

What immediately drew me to New Moon is that it's very different from most other magazines you'll find for pre-teen/teenage girls. It is not...

No better magazine out there for girls!

by   righton2000 ,  Feb 12, 2001
Pros: advertisement-free magazine, positive material for girls, more substantive than other publications
Cons: It only comes out every other month!
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend this magazine! There are so many negative media influences out there - this magazine really gives girls something positive!
Review: This magazine is a fabulous, advertisement-free publication for pre-teen girls. The target age group is girls ages 8-14. The magazine focuses on a wide variety of issues, including things like career, hobbies, poetry, literature, and gender...
