Pros: Intriguing, held my interest to the end, compelling plot, believable characters, striking twists.
Cons: The only con I can think of is that it was depressing.
The Bottom Line: It moves you in a way you never thought possible. Get your kleenexes out :).
Review: This story is very well written. Not my favorite Nicholas Sparks book, but pretty close. I thoroug ...

Pros: Strong testament to true love.
Cons: Not his greatest book.
The Bottom Line:
Read this book if you love romantic and realistic love stories. Review: I have been a fan of Nicholas Sparks' books for quite a few years. Upon hearing of the release of "Nights in Rodanthe" as a movie I was tempted to read this book again.Nicholas Sparks is a great author to read if you like romantic yet realistic ...

Nicholas Sparks's Nights in Rodanthe |
|||
|
Pros: It's another Nicholas Sparks love story!
Cons: Predictable, not near as captivating as his previous novels
The Bottom Line: I will recommend this book rather than not recommend it because Sparks still weaves a pretty (if not stellar) story and his lyrical prose is worth reading.
Review: I dont know if Im becoming more cynical as I get older, and its just becoming harder to be pleased by never-gonna-happen love stories, or if Nicholas Sparkss latest novel, Nights in Rodanthe just didnt...

A predictable Sparks novel of love, life, and heart-break...Nights In Rodanthe

Pros: Sparks writing, a little different from his typical stuff
Cons: lack of character depth, predictable
The Bottom Line: A typical, but non-typical Sparks story.
Review: I received Nights In Rodanthe as a gift from a very good friend a little while after it came out. She knew that I was a huge Nicholas Sparks fan and bought it for me as a Christmas gift last year. I have had so much going on in my life since ...

Sappy, Mildly Predictable, G-Rated Love Story |
|||
|
Pros: No violence or explicit sex. Sweet story.
Cons: A tad predictable. On the trite side.
The Bottom Line: It's a bit of fluff that might help pass a lazy winter afternoon.
Review: Nights in Rodanthe by Nicholas Sparks is a sweet story, a hair on the sappy side, and is comparable to The Bridges of Madison County. Last week, my editor at the local paper asked me to cover a speech by Sparks, and this review is b ...

When The Jacket Cover Is Far More Interesting Than What's Inside!!!

Pros: Writing that is clear and concise. Dreamy romance and passion. Great cover, front and back.
Cons: Characters' histories are not completely explored. No suspense.
The Bottom Line: This is a three-hankie tear-jerker. But when you get done crying, you'll be left with more questions about the bland characters' motivations than when you started.
Review: Nicholas Sparks would be a great idea for a pen name. If I didn't know better, I might think some housewife writing women's romances decided to adopt a male pen name, complete with hunky 8x5 author's back photo too, to reel in and make the female readers...

Nights In Rodanthe: Sparks can do so much better!

Pros: Likeable couple, beautiful and descriptive locales
Cons: Unrealistic timeframe for romance, too short and not enough time to tell the story
The Bottom Line: I do Recommend this book, but for a true Sparks treat, read The Notebook, A Walk to Remember, or True Believer.
Review: Nights in Rodanthe, although it starts out in the present, 2002 to be exact, is told mostly in flashback sequence. The time is winter 1988, and Adrianne has agreed to take care of a friends bed and breakfast while the friend is out of town. The ...

Pros: Different style of writing
Cons: slightly predictable but still fun to read
The Bottom Line: It is Nicholas Sparks so it is a good book, but not his best
Review: I read this whole book on an airplane trip...now mind you it was a 17 hour trip but never the less it kept my attention. The book starts out with a few main characters. The characters are well thought out but not very descriptive. The style of writing of ...

Pros: Very good story line, the characters were well developed.
Cons: Too predictable, not Nicholas Sparks best work.
The Bottom Line: Nights in Rodanthe was an alright book. It's a sad/unique love story that leaves readers wondering.
Review: Nights in Rodanthe is Nicholas Sparks most recent book. The main characters Adrienne and Paul were very well developed, and the story was very nice. Near the middle of the book you begin to figure out what is going to happen which makes you lose...

Pros: It was a short read.....
Cons: Just call him Nicholas, the Harlequin Smut Romance Writer....
The Bottom Line: Let's all close our eyes and pretend that Nicholas Sparks was desperate for money on this one. Better luck next time baby!
Review: Preamble
When it comes to movies and music, I have no problems paying full price for it when it comes out. When new books are released, I cringe at the thought of paying full price (or near it) for a hardcover book. There are a few... |
