XXX rated mission, with a Y twist - Young Adults Only

by   skyth ,  Jul 4, 2000
Pros: looks; roomy; sure control
Cons: bit rough; not too fast
The Bottom Line: good stuff
Review: I am usually amused by the way Nissan figures out the names for its cars. If you look too deeply, you always find that there is a hidden meaning under it. Not necessarily something that meant anything to the CEO or had something to do his son's ...

Nissan Xterra: Best of breed SUV

by   cpantel ,  Sep 27, 1999
Pros: Great looks, Superior performance, Pleasure to drive
Cons: Fuel economy
Review: This SUV looks great, no question. The distinctive roof rack, the no-chrome grill and bumper, the uniquely shaped windows, the running boards - they all contribute to perfect strangers approaching me in parking lots to rave about my Xterra. The...

Everything you need for rugged luxury...

by   Cate1956 ,  Jul 16, 2000
Pros: Sporty, fun, durable, affordable in today's economy.
Cons: I would like a little more trunk space when tray is in use.
Review: Sometimes, you want to drive a car just for the fun of it. The feeling of exhilaration you get when you put away the mini van and park the sedan, then jump behind the wheel of a Sports Utility Vehicle that just makes you feel young, and free, and...

much more than a Gen-X bandwagon

by   mjb2 ,  Sep 21, 2000
Pros: Great price, lots of features, car-like handling, large interior space, smooth manual transmission
Cons: Underpowered engine, bad gas mileage, wind noise
Review: I almost felt guilty buying an Xterra. Having seen Nissan's unapologetic "this-truck-will-turn-you-into-a-mountain-man" brochures and commercials, I felt like I was being a sucker for jumping onto what seems to be the latest bandwagon of...

Generation X's Finest

by   baztard ,  Sep 12, 2000
Pros: looks neat, solid ride and workmanship
Cons: Unattractive wheels
Review: I bought an SUV because I needed the cargo space. They're also very hip, you know. Was I hypnotized by those slick Nissan ads using fairly-hip modern rock tunes? It couldn't have hurt. I choose the Nissan Xterra for it's sporty yet understated looks...

The Mean, Lean, Dark Green Machine...

by   xexyz ,  Sep 21, 2001
Pros: Looks awesome, feels great. I can't find the underpowered engine and quirks that others describe
Cons: Mileage maybe? I can't really complain... it's an SUV for crying out loud!
The Bottom Line: I would, without hesitation, recommend this vehicle to anyone who is looking at purchasing a mid-sized SUV. It's fun to drive, and definitely great to look at.
Review: The first time I saw an ad on television for the 2000 Xterra, I thought to myself, "Wow... you gotta love that truck..."

That television ad got me so hyped I could literally feel myself blasting through the forest, streaking down...

Most practical SUV on the market!

by   caminator ,  Mar 13, 2000
Pros: Cheaper than other suv's its size
Cons: Hard to find...demand is very high!
Review: The Nissan Xterra was recently voted moter trend suv of the year. There has to be some good reasons for that!
I test drove this vehicle, and came away impressed. At the time of my drive, I was looking for an SUV mainly because I wanted something...

On or off road, its all the same.

by   skikyle ,  Dec 16, 2002
Pros: Trusted and reliable auto company, great features, cool looking.
Cons: none.
The Bottom Line: Its a great looking and very reliable Suv.
Review: The 2002 Nissan Xterra is an exelent suv. It caught my attention with its different but cool exterior design features such as the standard roof basket and side moldings. The Xterra is made by Nissan, a very trusted name, I have owned nissans in the...

BEST SUV OWNED!

by   mommytwoboys ,  Apr 2, 2003
Pros: BEST SUV EVER! Sharp looking, Fun to Drive, Stadium Seating in back.
Cons: The only con I can think of is that it lacks a 3rd seat!
The Bottom Line: ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND. Fun to drive, my kids love the stadium seating.Husband enjoys commuting & the state of the art CD player.
Review: My 2000 Xterra is the beautiful bright red with the black nose cover accessory, very sharp! Extremely sleek looking. Side steps makes it easy for kids and adults alike to "jump" into this fun, practical, economical (compared to other suvs in its class!)...

I Love my XTerra!

by   carisue1027 ,  Sep 8, 2001
Pros: Beautiful interior and exterior styling!
Cons: Could have a few more options/luxuries! Not great on corners - truck frame.
The Bottom Line: I am INCREDIBLY happy with my Xterra! It's definitely a Gen-X mobile!
Review: I traded in my Jeep Wrangler last year for a brand new silver Xterra - and, let me tell you, it was the BEST trade I've EVER done! I absolutely LOVE my Xterra! The back seat has "stadium seating" - makes it SO comfortable for the passengers! Mine has...
