Spec V long term

by   wdsconsulting ,  Jul 28, 2004
Pros: acceleration, cornering, mileage, value
Cons: transmission, torque steering
The Bottom Line: Great car for performance on a budget that will still haul the whole family.
Review: I have owned my 2002 Nissan Sentra SE/R Spec V for almost 2 years and have put about 35,000 miles on it. I love this car! It has great acceleration and cornering, and gets nice gas mileage as well. I typically get around 31mpg. My driving is a mix of ...

2002 SE-R Spec V

by   gelsheimer ,  Jul 21, 2002
Pros: SE-R excellent mix of sport, practicality, and value
Cons: One of the few cars with 'character', meaning you'll love it or hate it
The Bottom Line: To get anything near the performance and reliability of a SE-R, you'll have to spend $20,000 more.
Review: Let me start by giving you 30 seconds on my history, so you can put the review in context. I've owned small sporty cars (Firefly Turbo), sports cars (RX-7), and now that I'm in my mid-30s, married, with 1 kid, a '97 Ford Taurus LX (w/ 200HP Duratec). I...

Bang for the buck, nothing beats it.

by   scopedog ,  Apr 7, 2003
Pros: Quick, Fun, Comfortable, Handles great, stylish Skyline front end, and good features.
Cons: Clunky 6 speed, but still smooth enough for me. A little bubbly in the back.
The Bottom Line: The SE-R Spec V is the funnest car i have ever driven. Best bang for the buck out there.
Review: Ok I wrote a short version of my review yesterday. So now here I go with a new updated version:

I have had my Spec V for about 2 weeks now. It’s given me some time to get comfortable with the car.

1) The car is amazingly...

Sentra SE-R

by   smaggard79 ,  Jun 22, 2005
Pros: Enough power to have fun. Good breaks with the optional ABS Great handling.
Cons: Tinny exhaust sound. Cup holder.
The Bottom Line: Very stable car that with the right options is reliable and yet still fun to drive.
Review: I recently bought a used 02 SE-R, which is the lowest I would go an a Sentra, not to say the GXE isn't nice but I want a little power. After driving the car for a couple weeks I have yet to find anything I don't like, other than the tinny exhaust sound. ...

02 Sentra...best ever.

by   hillandj ,  Mar 13, 2002
Pros: Great power, Great handling, Great price.
Cons: Should get ABS standard on the SER
The Bottom Line: With 165 HP, the room of a mid sized sedan, CD player, and 16" wheels....The Sentra sure has come a long way.
Review: My review will be on the Sentra SE R model with Automatic transmission. The SER is equipped with the 2.5l, 4 cylinder, 16 valve, variable valve timing engine, getting the power to the ground via front wheel drive. We paid just over $20,000 (CAN) and I ...

Excellent Buy

by   matt_reigh ,  May 30, 2002
Pros: Nicely appointed interior; sporty exterior; great options
Cons: ABS not standard; AC pulls a lot of power
The Bottom Line: I encourage you to take a test drive; you won't be disappointed!
Review: In my search for a new car, I closely examined many cars currently available, including the Honda Civic, VW Jetta, Toyota Corolla and the Nissan Sentra. HANDS DOWN, the Sentry was exactly what I wanted.

While the Sentra has a low MSRP in...

Surprisingly strong Sentra

by   NiamhX ,  Mar 12, 2003
Pros: Price, MPG, options, styling
Cons: Inconsistencies with dealer servicing
The Bottom Line: Stylish, comfortable ride, VERY affordable, environmentally friendly, and durable thus far. Watch out for service costs, and think twice before buying it if you haul lots of people around!
Review: As a financially-strapped recent college graduate desperately in need for an affordable replacement for my late, great Beltway Beater, I considered price, fuel efficiency, insurance rates, and of course engine power and stereo system :) when selecting my...

Stealth fighter

by   snorkler ,  Feb 24, 2002
Pros: Best subcompact car under $20,000, with four-door convenience and stealth cloaking
Cons: Limited supply means dealers are only stocking loaded cars and asking high prices
The Bottom Line: This is your car if you like to go fast without attracting attention. Fun factor = 10
Review: This is a brilliant car. I test drove one on the same day I drove a 2002 Nissan Altima 3.5 SE. Both cars lay rubber in second gear, but the SE-R does it with 75 fewer horses, 500 fewer pounds, and $5000 fewer dollars invested, comparably equipped....

2003 Nissan Sentra Spec-V

by   chav101 ,  May 9, 2003
Pros: Peppy, Great Handling, Quiet Ride
Cons: Pull to the left because of the differential, choppy clutch, sound system.
The Bottom Line: I would reccomend this car to anyone. Fun to drive and looks good.
Review: I just recently purchased a 2003 Nissan SEntra Spec-V. I love the car. She has enough torque in the lower rpm range to make starting and stopping a blast!! The powerband seems to be pretty linear until you hit about 4500 rpm's. This is where the...

Nissan's low buck winner!!

by   micway71 ,  Feb 25, 2002
Pros: Price, exterior, most of the interior, handling, performance
Cons: The gauges are hard to see in day, but look great @night
The Bottom Line: If you are in search of a sports car sedan that is priced better than most, do not overlook this one!!! Looks great! Handles great! Powerful enough!
Review: Okay, it has been quite a while since I have written a review just because I haven't been that excited about anything until now!!! I had been looking at the new Spec V since they come out and was telling myself I need to look further into them....
