Finally, Performance and Fuel Efficiency are matched

by   jesterrace ,  Apr 3, 2007
Pros: Very Fast and Fun to Drive, Decent gas mileage, Stylish, Relatively cheap replacement parts
Cons: Defective Power Valve Screws can destroy engine, Rear Seats do not fold down.
The Bottom Line: Great for those seeking reliable transport and decent fuel efficiency without sacrificing power. Replace the Power Valve Screws immediately though.
Review: After having a whole list of crappy cars and finally landing a decent job, I have decided to get a reliable commuter vehicle. Something newer with low miles. I have been looking at a number of different compact cars and the Nissan Sentra keeps coming ...

Spec-V: high performance value in a car you can actually find

by   drewydd ,  Jan 20, 2003
Pros: power and torque to spare shifter fixed for 2003 back seat big enough
Cons: fold down back seat not standard ride is quite firm transmission and exhaust noise
The Bottom Line: Get the Spec-V for total sportiness Get the GXE 2.5 LE for more comfort
Review: 2003 Spec-V
SEG factor 9.3 out of 10 (S.E.G - the G stands for grin!)

After driving everything and reading all the reviews we could find, we bought a 2003 Sentra Spec-V. Ours is Sunburst yellow for fun. We got the ABS/SAB but not the...

SE-R Spec V, excellent value, fun car

by   nycracer ,  Feb 18, 2004
Pros: Fun to drive, torquey engine, comfortable seating, decent stock stereo, inexpensive
Cons: Torque steer
The Bottom Line: I would buy this car again for this price. Fun to drive and cheap.
Review: I bought the Spec V in early 2003 for $15,400 (US). For the price, I don't think you can find a better car. Power/Engine: most people on other website seem to find they get roughly 145whp. With bolt-on mods people are easily getting 165whp. Mine ...

Spec V: Best Bang for the buck anywhere!

by   shabba2 ,  Oct 24, 2002
Pros: Quick, practical, respectable gas mileage, Nissan quality
Cons: Cup holders are an afterthought, ABS/Side Airbags not standard.
The Bottom Line: I recommend the Spec V to anyone looking for a quick 4 door car. It is the best "Bang for the Buck" going today.
Review: This car is no supermodel. It is a budget car and those who expect Lotus moves and Detroit muscle speed for Yugo prices are going to be upset. The 2003 Nissan Sentra Spec V is, however, the best bang for the buck since the '87-'93 Mustang 5.0. For less...

Awesome Car for Awesome Price

by   ebayer137 ,  Jun 1, 2004
Pros: Power, Standard Features, Quality, Torque, Handling, PRICE, gas milage, looks, sound system
Cons: Shocks, No Power Seats, Trunk Space
Review: I love the Sentra. I like almost everything about this car. The engine is a 1.8l, but is powerful for only a 1.8. The engine puts out 126 HP stock, and when you compare this to a Pontiac Sunfire there 2.2 puts out 126 HP. The Civic has a 1.6 engine and ...

The Nissan Sentra 2003 from the Former Saleswoman's Point of View

by   kparsons13 ,  Jun 16, 2003
Pros: Handles decent, Controls are easy, Nice First Vehicle Purchase
Cons: Can get pricey for the lowest end model of the Nissan Family
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this to someone who is starting out and wanting to purchase their first vehicle. I wouldn't recommend it if you can afford a few extra bucks otherwise.
Review: The first car I ever sold at my Nissan dealership was a 2003 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V model. The c ...

Fast & Affordable

by   dguruswamy ,  Sep 27, 2003
Pros: Powerful engine, cheap to insure, inexpensive, handles well.
Cons: Tacky interior, torque steer, conservative styling
The Bottom Line: An inexpensive car with a lot of power that's also practical (cheap to insure and doesn't attract attention from police).
Review: BACKGROUND I really wasn't looking to buy a new car, but Nissan offered some great incentives on the Sentra earlier this year and I bit. INTRODUCTION I ended up purchasing a 2003 Nissan Sentra SE-R with an automatic. EN ...
