Plenty of features and a good price - a little "pimpish"?

by   mistsy ,  Jun 24, 2005
Pros: Very well equipped at a very good price.
Cons: MPG... it's in line with similar models, but I want better.
The Bottom Line: Great car at a great price! I want better mpg than 20 years ago.
Review: I just bought a 2005 Altima a few months ago and it is the most luxurious car I have ever owned. (That's not saying much... I've always had bottom-end cars.) Compared to my previous cars, this is a real gem. It has all kinds of features I would not ...

Beautiful car, VERY reliable!

by   imy01 ,  Jul 26, 2005
Pros: Manual transmission performance, brakes, handling, reliability, fuel efficiency, stance on road.
Cons: Cut-rate interior, audio, ABS??
The Bottom Line: Love the performance and the handling, great for families or teen drivers, but opt for the ABS.
Review: NOTE: This review was written in July of 2005. I purchased this vehicle in early March of 2004. Since then I have used it mainly for commuting to and from my university (approx. 18 miles one way). When originally deciding what vehicle to purchase, ...

Very Nice Car

by   cmanning1000 ,  Jul 17, 2005
Pros: Gas Mileage, Roominess, Trunk Size
Cons: 4-Cylinder engine noisy at high RPM's.
The Bottom Line: It's fun to drive and I am very happy with it.
Review: After owning three Nissan Maxima's I decided it was time for a change. My first Maxima had a 190 horse V6 that got about 25 miles per gallon of premium but in the 2002 version, because of the additional weight and larger engine, it dropped to 19. After ...

A Solid Alternative to the Camry and Accord

by   rwcat ,  Dec 3, 2004
Pros: Great handling, acceleration, and braking. Roomy and comfortable. Feels solid.
Cons: Gated shifter annoys, placement of some interior controls could be better, radio reception only fair.
The Bottom Line: I would definitely recommend this car. It simply does everything well.
Review: This is my second Nissan vehicle. My great experience with my 1995 Maxima sold me on Nissan quality and performance. The purchase of a 2005 Altima was definitely the right choice for me. I opted for the SE 5-speed automatic w/ manual shift mode. My ...

Excellent car for a family

by   nmfleisch ,  Dec 4, 2006
Pros: Roomy, good gas mileage, excellent reliability
Cons: Stereo sounds bad, seats not too comfy, blows cold air.
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this as a great little family car that is very reliable.
Review: This was the first "foreign" car that we bought. We were in a crunch to replace our old car before it blew up and we missed the trade in value! We leased a 2005 Altima and since have been incredibly happy with it. We have 3 children (age 2, 7, and 10) ...

2005 Majestic Blue Altima 3.5 SE Automatic

by   spitz82 ,  Apr 13, 2007
Pros: Styling, Power, Roomy, Reliability.
Cons: Pricey, Traction w/factory tires.
The Bottom Line: Having 2 Altima's and having virtually no problems mechanically, I'd say there's no reason NOT to recommend the Altima.
Review: This 2005 Altima is actually my second Altima. I traded in my 2004 Super Black Altima 3.5SE for this one. I bought both brand new and have similar complaints with both. I do have to say that the minor redesign for 2005 took care of most of my complaints ...

V6 with power to spare

by   bagheera36 ,  Feb 16, 2006
Pros: Sporty, quick, powerful and generally fun to drive.
Cons: Lack of standard ABS, side curtain airbags and traction control on the V6.
The Bottom Line: Go for it!!, you wont regret it.
Review: I am coming up on a year now with my 05' 3.5 SE and have very few complaints. The engine is a dream, powerful with that growl when you step on the gas. I recommend if your going to get this car to spring for the 3.5 SE or SL models (250 h.p/249 ft.lbs ...

Review: I LOVE THIS CAR! I purchased my 2005 Nissan Altima SL used in March 08 and it is one of the best purchases I have ever made! It has a powerful 3.5-liter engine that gives you the pickup you need to pull out into traffic and leave other cars in the ...

Pros: 175HP, style, roomy in front and back. Layout of controls
Cons: Radio lights/ clock dim and hard to read in daytime
The Bottom Line: Outstanding value for car. Highly recommended.
Review: Researched all the reviews and magazines for a car for my wife. We took home the Toyota Camry XLE for 2 days and because they didn't have the color we wanted (red) they had it sent from the factory. It was a 2 week wait. In the meantime we took home a ...
