Brawny styling with an amazing motor. Comfortable for four adults. Leads its class.

by   weaselsmasher ,  Mar 7, 2006
Pros: Robust, rugged, well-styled, good safety rating. Comfortable with car-like interior amenities. Engine is a masterpiece.
Cons: Ride quality needs work under some circumstances. Fuel economy good by truck standards only.
The Bottom Line: A high-quality truck with an outstanding engine. Car-like interior comfort; usable back seat; many nice touches. Beefy, bold styling. Fuel economy okay... for a truck
Review: The Nissan Frontier is a highly-regarded midsized pickup truck. Targeted less at the "work truck" market and more towards the home owner with a Home Depot habit, the Frontier is a thoroughly modern truck with serious aspirations. Built in the United ...

This Little Truck Grew Up

by   sdkid ,  Nov 12, 2006
Pros: Excellent frame and engine choices provide either great MPG or top-rate Power
Cons: Interior finish is utilitarian-plastic. Don't expect a car-like ride--it's a truck.
The Bottom Line: If you want a truck that gets great mileage or a truck that does the work of others' V8's, the Nissan Frontier will deliver.
Review: I have owned Nissan pickups since 1984. I purchased an XE model (the 4-cylinder version) in August of 2005, with a bedliner and the Popular package including the sliding rear window, tinted windows, AC, and upgraded stereo. The release of the 2005 ...

A Solid, Good Looking, Powerful Pickup

by   esmerideth ,  Jan 23, 2005
Pros: solid, smooth, powerful, reasonably priced, sprayed on bed liner with excellent tie down system
Cons: hard to reach door handles
The Bottom Line: I would highly recommend this vehicle. It is comfortable, powerful and conveniently built to haul things. If the reliability holds up, I will be highly satisfied.
Review: Before they hit the car lots, I knew about the new mid-sized Nissan Frontier and Toyota Tacoma. I had been driving a 1986 Toyota pickup long bed which I had bought new and was ready to step up to a larger but not humongous sized truck. After an excellent ...

It's the right truck for me

by   jeff_adams ,  Aug 18, 2005
Pros: Powerful motor, solid transmission. Smart layout in cab. 4 wheel open disc brakes.
Cons: Backseat is too upright. Inside fender wells not totally covered.
The Bottom Line: It's the right combination with the best price. What more could you ask for?
Review: First off, let me tell you that I did my research. I looked at ALL the 4 door 4x4 midsized pickups out there. Honda, Toyota, Chevy, Ford, Dodge and Nissan. Each had strengths and weaknesses. Take the time to check out Car and Driver's review at ...

2005 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab

by   flyfishmatt ,  Sep 16, 2005
Pros: POWER, bed features, roominess, handling.
Cons: Interior is more than adequate but lacks some refinements. Small price to pay.
The Bottom Line: I think this truck is the best overall buy in a mid sized crew cab. Give it a chance, you will not be disappointed. It might change your mind.
Review: Most reviews rate the Tacoma above the Frontier. I for one disagree. I have owned a Toyota for the last 15 years. If you told me last year that I would own a Nissan, I would have told you that you are crazy. However, that little recognized element of ...

Love that Frontier!

by   GuyH ,  Oct 23, 2005
Pros: Great looking truck, good gas mileage, comfortable
Cons: sunroof linked to airbags
The Bottom Line: If anyone is looking for a versatile and comfortable mid-sized truck, get the Frontier NISMO.
Review: My wife and I were looking for a good truck for our next vehicle. We looked into the Toyota Tacoma, Honda Ridgeline, and the Nissan Frontier. The Toyota was less expensive and the Honda had better power and neat features. In the middle of the ...

Powerful, Good handling, Reliable

by   fjcp ,  Aug 12, 2007
Pros: Power, load capacity, reliability, front seat comfort, good off-road capability in stock form
Cons: Poor stock tires, tight rear seat for adults, propensity for stone chips on rocker panels
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this vehicle for its power, good handling, and reliability, for reasons that appear in my review.
Review: I own a Storm Gray 2005 Nissan Frontier Off-Road crew cab truck, purchased new on 30 June 2005. It is a secondary vehicle, used for the specialized activities of occasional light hauling, transporting 2 to 3 touring kayaks and gear, and as a ...

Too good to be true, but it is!

by   maverickchamp ,  Aug 30, 2005
Pros: Speed, agility, and nice ride
Cons: Sometimes bed is small, Head room for 6'+ers
The Bottom Line: Buy it if you are looking for a midsize and want to use cheap gas (unlike Tacoma)
Review: Purchased a 2005 Nissan Frontier Nismo Crew Cab with all the buttons and whistles. BIG improvement over my past truck, a 1999 Dodge Dakota Sport Club Cab. The Nissan handles like it is on rails, which can get tricky at high speeds on the highway. ...

Nissan should be at the top with this truck

by   christy1231 ,  Feb 28, 2005
Pros: Its has the Total Package.
Cons: Longer warranty like 60 months full.
Review: Looked at the Dodge Dakota, Nissan Titan, Toyota Tacoma all 2005 and selected the Nissan Frontier. Solid truck, quality built, powerful engine that has more power than the V8 Dodge Dakota. 4 wheel Disc brakes, roof rack, sprayed in bed liner, body side ...

One great truck

by   frontierle ,  Jan 17, 2005
Pros: Engine ,5spd Auto, Nice new interior, Ride handling , bed configuration
Cons: sound system
Review: I have had Toyotas most of my adult life and was planning on the 05 model. After driving both the new Frontier and the new Tacoma I see two top Quality vehicles. The Toy has better interior and I liked the composite bed but the drive was not as solid or ...
