"Obsessed" by Ted Dekker

by   CindyJean , top reviewer in Books at Epinions.com ,  Sep 10, 2004
Pros: intensity of the story, vivid imagery, fast pace
Cons: very graphic in places, not for the weak-stomached
The Bottom Line: What are you waiting for? Get "Obsessed!"
Review: It’s a Big World Out There! For several years when someone would mention Christian fiction I would instantly think of Janette Oke, and that was it. I didn’t realize quite how many different authors were writing Christian fiction, or ...

Obsessed

by   eskypades ,  Feb 6, 2008
Pros: Intense, romantic, page-turning action. Non-stop from start to finish
Cons: Some actions are a little ludicrous, but this only further conveys the point.
The Bottom Line: Dekker provides yet again another excellently fast-paced adventure with an underlying lesson in passion.
Review: First thing you should know is that Obsessed is a romance novel. Wait, a romance novel? That’s right. As in most, if not all, of his writings, Dekker writes with some level of Christian allegory, often only just a hint, along with the battle of good ...

Obsessed, a Realistic and Powerful Reading Experience

by   idyllcope ,  Apr 15, 2006
Pros: Fast action, realistic characterizations, allegorical reference points, authentic depictions of evil.
Cons: Stephen's spiritual beliefs, interrelationships, and backstory maybe deliberately obscure.
The Bottom Line: A meaningful read, unless you are looking for a pithy bromide about the good in humanity.
Review: Ted Dekker conveys a multi-period, honest and accountable story with precise suspense. It literally spellbinds the reader to such an extent that, even when you step away, you do not leave the story's mood behind. The action in the story continually ...

Dekker's Obsessed can begin a reader's obsession

by   emoore ,  May 19, 2005
Pros: Fast-paced, loveable hero, seriously creepy bad guy
Cons: Story could have been a bit longer to provide more detail
The Bottom Line: Read it, and get the rest of Dekker's books. All are different and guaranteed to keep the pages turning.
Review: Since the year 2000, author Ted Dekker has had eleven books published. An amazing accomplishment by itself, but currently, he also has all three of his Circle Trilogy books on the Christian Booksellers Association bestseller list. No one can quite ...

Another Great Christian Thriller by Dekker

by   kandscreeley ,  Jun 19, 2008
Pros: A very interesting, fast paced novel with several twists
Cons: A little graphic for some
The Bottom Line: Even though this book is graphic, I would recommend this novel to anyone who enjoys the Christian fiction genre. It's a really interesting and well written story.
Review: Although I am not a big fan of Ted Dekker, this is another of his books that I would actually recommend. He's a little bit too graphic for me at times, but in this novel I believe that he doesn't overdo it. The holocaust was a very graphic thing, and ...
