Lucky Thirteen

by   SKAD13 ,  Jun 12, 2007
Pros: Characterization and scripting much improved over the first two outings
Cons: The women still serve as background for boys' antics
The Bottom Line: A decided improvement over its smug predecessors
Review: Director Steven Soderbergh recently said that his new Ocean's Eleven sequel should be titled Ocean's Thirteen: The One We Should Have Made Last Time. I'll go one better: Ocean's Thirteen is better than the other two Ocean ...

"Peligroso es mi nombre medio."

by   hbala ,  Jun 9, 2007
Pros: All star cast and chemistry; breezy comedy caper; brazen villain in Pacino; Matt Damon's nose.
Cons: You've seen all this before. No Julia Roberts or Catherine Zeta Jones.
The Bottom Line: After a less than stellar sequel in OCEAN'S TWELVE, the series is now back on track. Nothing new here but still an enjoyable romp, powered by the cast's chemistry.
Review: Danny Ocean (George Clooney), Rusty Ryan (Brad Pitt), and the rest of the cool bunch are at it again. This time, in OCEAN'S THIRTEEN, it's even more personal as one of their own is unceremoniously victimized which results in his suffering a near fatal ...

Lucky Thirteen

by   danielse ,  Jun 14, 2007
Pros: The greatest cast and the best director currently working
Cons: Utterly empty
The Bottom Line: Great looking nonsense. Better than 80% of the movies you will see on a big screen this year.
Review: There's a famous story that Raymond Chandler once returned a corrected manuscript to the editor who had dared to question his judgement. "When I split an infinitive," he wrote, "I split it so it damn well stays split." Anyone who has read Chandler's The ...

Ocean's Thirteen - Pretty, witty and a little nauseating

by   millinocket , top reviewer in Movies at Epinions.com ,  Jan 31, 2008
Pros: Clooney and Pitt have excellent onscreen chemistry, it's fun to watch the pretty, witty people
Cons: Soderbergh's hyper direction, ridiculously convoluted heist
The Bottom Line: The bottom line went broke playing dime roulette.
Review: I have no qualms whatsoever about watching movies that are pure and simple brain and eye candy. I don’t always want to have to think too hard – or hard at all, or think at all – while absorbing a little entertainment. Thus, I have seen and generally ...

Third in a series,better?

by   notredame1079 ,  Jul 4, 2007
Pros: dialogue and fast paced
Cons: bad punchlines
The Bottom Line: watch if bored
Review: I have loved the first 2 and loved them and was hoping that this would be just as good. I hate to say it but I was kinda disappointed. This movie had a good plot line of trying to con a casino owner, wish they would have gotten a different plot after the ...

waste of time!

by   mck134 ,  Jul 23, 2007
Pros: Seeing all those stars
Cons: Action movie without action
Review: I haven't seen the first two movies of the series. I decided to go to this one to see george clooney, brad pitt and all the others. Ocean's 13 was awful. There were no action, no humor, nothing. It's a total waste of time and money. It's an action movie ...
