Pros: Much smaller than other meters I have used.
Cons: None.
The Bottom Line: Even I can use this machine without getting an error. This was impossible with meters that needed more blood. 5 second results are great.
Review: As Len has had his One Touch Ultra blood glucose monitoring system for over a year now, I thought I should write a review about it. I have just up-dated the Accu-Chek review, which I wrote back in November of 2,000. Len has been a diabetic for ...

Pros: Small, compact, easy to use, with sturdy carrying case. Accurate.
Cons: Well, anyone who must keep track of blood sugars would rather not.
The Bottom Line: If one must check one's blood sugar, this is a simple method and sleek/compact to carry.
Review: OneTouch Ultra Blood Glucose Monitoring System I have checked blood glucose on patients for years. But, within the past six months, my physician has blessed me with the diagnosis of Diabetes. Well, Im here to tell you, its a whole 'nother ...

Pros: Easy & Almost Painless glucose level testing in your home. Free!
Cons: Cost of supplies - especially test strips which must be obtained by Prescription.
The Bottom Line: One of the best home Diabetes testing kits. Free with 10 Test Strips (for training purposes). Tricky to learn, easy to use thereafter. Education Courses available. Almost Painless.

Pros: Customer service, strips, lancing device
Cons: No beeps may be a problem for some people
The Bottom Line: I can't think of anyone who does blood testing who would not find this meter to be great for their needs.
Review: I got this meter because my pharmacist highly recommended it. I saw why very quickly. My insurance covered the meter, except for a co-pay. In the kit was the case (which works out fine for me), the lancing device, 10 lancets, 10 test strips, a log ...

Pros: Very small (1ul) blood sample, compact, easy to use!
Cons: Honestly, none!
The Bottom Line: In addition to the size and virtually pain free testing, I recommend this monitor due to the reputation of the LifeScan company, their warranty, and their customer service.
Review: I have very recently been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, and when told I needed to purchase a monitoring system, I was quite frankly overwhelmed. The thought of testing my own blood was very scary simply because of the lancet. I am writing this review ...

Pros: small size, results in 5 seconds, small blood sample size, computer software available
Cons: included lancing device, cannot be exposed to extreme temperatures for long periods of time,
The Bottom Line: I recommend the One Touch Ultra for any diabetic when it is offered to you for free. It is fast and accurate.
Review: I have been a diabetic for 16 years and have seen many blood glucose meters in my time. I got my first One Touch brand (Profile) about 8 years ago free from a doctor, as it was the current meter at the time. I became a fan of One Touch products at that ...

Pros: Small, accurate, fast, and uses a small amount of blood
Cons: I'm not aware of any
The Bottom Line: I recommend that anyone with blood sugar problems buy this product. It is fast, easy, and accurate, as well as small and easy to carry.
Review: I had been avoiding taking my sugar for a long time. The doctor in the diabetes clinic of the hospital referred me to a firm which bills medicare and delivers the monitor and accompanying products to your home. This was very helpful, because I had...

Pros: Uses very little blood. Can optionally test on arm instead of finger. Fast too.
Cons: Case has to be "dismantled" to get stuff out.
The Bottom Line: If you hate drawing BIG blood droplet samples... this is your meter!
Review: Another addition to my collection (I have 5 other meters) and it's a very nice addition to the family.
Things to like about this meter: Very small meter, but the magnified display is very, very large and easy to read (in fact,... |

Pros: Tests small amount blood, fast results, mostly painless finger/arm testing, compact, nice case.
Cons: Small test strips somewhat difficult to handle.
The Bottom Line: Fast testing, uses less blood, arm or finger testing, compact, convenient, keeps dated records, has a customer support number 24/7.
Review: When I was diagnosed with Type II diabetes last October I felt devastated. Although I knew there was a possibility when I was growing up, because of family history, I was hoping it would bypass me. But here I was, being told that I needed to change my ...

Pros: Small, quick results, readily available strips, easy to use, little needed. blood
Cons: battery availability & cost of battery.
The Bottom Line: Quick results and small. You don't need a backpack to carry it.
Review: Being type 1 diabetic for 31 years, I've used all kinds of meters since they were first introduced. I really like this meter.
The two biggest reasons are the size and quickness of results. It's size is 3inches high, by 2.5 inches wide. That's... |
