by   meleahk ,  Jun 20, 2002
Pros: great articles, pages not to crowded, colorful
Cons: none
The Bottom Line: I have enjoyed Outdoor Life magazine. I take it with me when we go fishing. It's really a great read!
Review: Women like magazines! Well so do men! And they like magazines that are designed for them. That’s a safe assumption I think. Recently I got my husband subscriptions for his birthday to a couple of different Sport magazines, I got them for free through...

by   smallmouth ,  Feb 15, 2001
Pros: Great Local, Regional, and National coverage. Informative and Instructional
Cons: Only Once a month. Too many adds, but no more than the next magazine.
The Bottom Line: If you hunt or fish or like the outdoors, this magazine could help you in ways you will only read about. Check it out, trust me, it's worth it.
Review: What is it?

Outdoor Life is a magazine that is published specifically for people who enjoy the sports of Hunting and Fishing. However, the magazine has much more to offer. It has some of the best photographers from any...

Upholding An Outdoors Legacy!

by   Rick_Bin ,  Nov 1, 1999
Pros: Excellent writers; frank, head-on portrayal of controversial issues; great photography; really tapped into the outdoor life.
Cons: Lots of ads (like all such mags).
Review: When you talk about outdoors magazines, no conversation is complete without some mention of OUTDOOR LIFE. Call it the legacy of Jack O'Connor, whose columns still appear in OL decades after his death, or the contributions of modern legends like shooting...

Great and Getting Better

by   eyesonlyts ,  Apr 12, 2000
Pros: Well written articles by outdoor experts
Cons: Doesn't come out weekly
Review: I discovered Outdoor Life as a 13 year old back in 1961. For my then very small allowance, I thought that each issue was worth several times the cost of that first subscription. I carried each issue to school with me so my spare moments would not go to...

Staying the course

by   bobnewman ,  Jan 14, 2000
Pros: Solid info
Cons: None
Review: Outdoor Life remains one of the best generalist hunting-and-fishing magazines of its kind. It is different from Field & Stream (which is also damn fine) in that adventure and more basic info is presented more often. The writing is terrific, as it has...
