Over the Shoulder Baby Holder: Womb with a view

by   marytara , lead in Kids & Family at Epinions.com ,  Jun 19, 2001
Pros: Holds baby like mommy's arms but keeps mommy's arms free to do other things.
Cons: I wish I had found this sooner!
The Bottom Line: This is a very versatile baby sling that can be used in a variety of natural positions. Recommended for ages 0 to 3 (or 40 pounds). Great for large babies!
Review: When my son reached 20 pounds at 4 months I knew that I was in for it. He had outgrown his soft frontpack carrier and my back was killing me.

I started doing some research and found the Over the Shoulder Baby Holder.

The...

When Your Baby Outgrows a Baby Bjorn try an Over the Shoulder Baby Holder

by   mmcphee , top reviewer in Kids & Family at Epinions.com ,  Jun 12, 2004
Pros: Easy to use, no height or weight limits, multiple positions
Cons: Uncomfortable to use shoulder bag and sling at the same time
The Bottom Line: My only regret is that I didn’t purchase an OTSBH sooner. It’s easy and comfortable to use. Get the instructional video so you get the most out of this carrier.
Review: My older daughter was never crazy about being carried. She likes her personal space and has always liked sitting in the stroller or a shopping cart. However my nearly 1 year old is a "hold me" baby. She will sit in a contraption for as long as her older ...

Review: First, about me. I'm 5 feet tall and weigh about 110 pounds. My son is 12 pounds and 21 inches (just over 2 months old) at the time of this review.

The Over The Shoulder Baby Holder (OTSBH) comes in 4 different sizes based on your height and...

by   lylah_c ,  Feb 25, 2001
Pros: lets you keep baby close and comfortable and your hands free
Cons: hmmm, can't think of any.
The Bottom Line: every mom needs one of these
Review: When I had my son, I had never seriously considered a sling. They are not readily available here and the one time I had an opportunity to buy one when my daughter was a baby, it was in a second hand baby store. It had no instructions for use and I...

Get this sling!

by   gavinkmom ,  May 23, 2002
Pros: THE best sling carrier out there!! Hands down!
Cons: Non, if you get the video!
The Bottom Line: Do the research. Have a happy child! Use a sling!!!
Review: I got a OTSBH for a shower gift... I didn't know if I would be an "attachment" parent, or not... I wasn't sure HOW I would feel about parenting style... I just knew I was leaning towards a "hands on" approach! I had a natural birth (on purpose :) ) and...

Great for Nursing Moms and freeing arms.

by   sister2429 ,  Dec 3, 2000
Pros: Helps free your hands and arms while carrying your baby
Cons: You must use precaution and common sense.
Review: I was introduced to the Over The Shoulder Baby Holder with my second child. My wonderful sister bought me one. It is a very nice item for nursing moms. You can nurse your baby while he or she is inside the baby holder, and it gives great covering for...

A blessing for tired arms!

by   keena81 ,  Dec 19, 2001
Pros: A free hand or two!
Cons: Once baby squirms, be careful. Good posture needed with bigger babies or backaches are possible.
The Bottom Line: Great if you have a very new baby who needs a heartbeat to sleep well. Also, be mindful of corners and careful when bending over.
Review: I received my baby holder as a gift from my sister. She used it for both of her children with good effect. I had also used it one or twice while baby-sitting for her children, my niece and nephew.

The only thing I can say about the baby...

Over The Shoulder Baby Holder...What a delight!

by   sbthur25 ,  Nov 15, 2001
Pros: The Over the Shoulder Baby Holder...have questions? I have answers!
Cons: Not a great choice in fabric/pattern to choose from.
The Bottom Line: The Over the Shoulder Baby Holder brings my family comfort, convenience, and peace of mind!!!
Review: When I was first introduced to the Over The Shoulder Baby Holder by my sister, I was quite skeptical!
My four major concerns were:
1. How in the world is this safe?
2. What is the benefit here?
3. Isn't it too...
