Wow! What a great Digital Camcorder!

Let me start out by saying I'm fairly new to the camcorder world so I didn't know anything about them when I bought the PV-GS14. I had gone to several stores but didn't feel the salesmen ever gave me a good presentation until I went to Best Buy. The salesman there gave the best presentation and actually knew what he was talking about. So much so that I was blown away with all the info. I figured I would buy it anyway and give it a shot.

Once I got home I unwrapped the little beauty and played with it for about 2 hours. This is by far the easiest camcorder to use. I was able to figure out most everything by myself within the first hour. The picture quality is so lifelike and sharp. You can even use a memory card with the camcorder to take still shots.

Here are some of the model features directly from the manual: The lens is 35mm. There are 4 different mode dials (tape recording mode, tape playback mode, card recording mode, picture playback mode). It has the memory card feature, an LED video light, S-video output jack and a microphone jack which records voices and sounds with incredible clarity. The viewfinder is a Liquid crystal color electronic viewfinder. Here are some equipment options: memory card, cd-rom, remote control, usb cable.

Now, I will go over some of the basic functions of the camcorder. The viewfinder has either a 22X optical zoom or an 800X digital zoom. To use optical simply pull the viewfinder out from the body of the camcorder and adjust the eyepiece corrector knob. Or, use the digital zoom by adjusting the zoom lever on top of the camcorder. Once the LCD screen is open you will find a menu screen on the inside of the camera which is easily accessible. From the menu screen there are many different options to choose from to enhance the picture quality. Some of the menu features are auto or manual focus, regular light or backlight, recording mode, magic pix, soft skin, multi picture-in-picture, etc.....

Here are some of the cool feature that I personally like. It is capable of taking rapidfire consecutive photoshots which are recorded at .5 second intervals or until 10 pictures are taken. I have personally used this function and it works great. It has a self timer mode which comes in handy if you want to take pictures of yourself and your the only one around. The built in microphone's directional angle and sensitivity can be varied. It has the image stabilizer function for those of us who aren't sure handed. And lastly there are the digital effects. Among others I like the strobe mode, trailing effect mode, mosaic mode, sepia mode, and black and white mode.

Basically whether you new to camcorders like myself or a regular user this camcorder has everything you need to take awesome video and photos. It has all the digital effects and enhancement options anyone could ever need in my opinion.
