Panasonic RP-HC50 Noise Canceling Stereo Headphones

by   timwdegner ,  Oct 27, 2002
Pros: small and lightweight, noise canceling, several colors available, great sound, fairly cheap
Cons: a bit spendy, initially uncomfortable, battery door opens on it's own occasionally
The Bottom Line: Buy them! They're compact, offer excellent sound (including bass), and cancel outside noise so you don't have to crank it dangerously.
Review: Well, I've only had my pair of Panasonic RP-HC50 headphones for a little over a week now, but I think I can give you a very good idea of the quality and value of it already. First off, I'm a BMX biker, and do a lot of dirt jumping and bumpy street...

Never a better "Bang for the buck."

by   iumiller99 ,  Mar 4, 2003
Pros: Price, noise-canceling actually works, size
Cons: Extra unit to carry around, too many switches, they're still ear buds
The Bottom Line: Bottom Line: Buy 'em, you'll love 'em.
Review: Let me start by saying that I have purchased four sets of headphones this week, and the only set I kept were these Panasonic RP-HC50s. Overall, these headphones rock. I had tried expensive noise-canceling headphones before, and loved the quality, but...

Not as good as I though after reading other reviews

by   tomstachura ,  Sep 18, 2003
Pros: small in size, cheaper than Sony's ear buds, long battery life
Cons: Poor sound quality, adds its own noise, not much noise reduction and not that comfy.
Review: The ear buds are not that comfortable - I don't understand why they couldn't provide the soft fit-into-your-ear things. The sound quality is actually quite poor and the noise reduction is minimal. In fact, the system introduces its own low and high freque ...

absolute garbage

by   cudaboy_71 ,  Jan 29, 2004
Pros: none
Cons: no noise cancellation--actually adds noise.
The Bottom Line: just bad implementation of a good idea. primary design feature does not work.
Review: maybe a bit harsh, especially since i appear to be the sole dissenter among the reviewers so far. anyway, i'll give my honest impression: the sole reason i purchased these buds was for the noise cancellation properties. i already have numerous buds i ...

Not happy at all

by   admontvt ,  May 5, 2004
Pros: Small, compact.
Cons: Does not noise cancel. Panasonic doesn't offer any replacement support for an upgrade.
Review: I purchased the RP-HC50 as replacement for a RP-HC70 that was left on an airplane. I was traveling when I purchased the HC50 and the store (3000 miles away from where I live) was out of stock of the HC70 (which have foam padded headsets instead of ...

Not Worth the Money

by   rocky89dog ,  Oct 29, 2004
Pros: ZERO
Cons: Don't do it!
Review: I bought these at an airport gift shop for my trip from London to Houston - 10+ hours....Plugged into the airplane sound system (with supplied adapter) as well as my laptop. There is virtually no difference in the sound with the unit ON versus OFF. ...
