Cons: No super-wide angle, no RAW
The Bottom Line: If you want a 6-Megapixel responsive "monster zoom" camera, this Panasonic FZ7 is an excellent choice. With 12x optical zoom, optical image stabilization, fast...
Review: I have sold my 5-Megapixel P anasonic Lumix DMC-FZ5 a while ago in favor of a smaller camera, but wanted to see if the new 6-Megapixel Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ7 is a remarkably different camera. I liked the FZ5's ...

Excellent Camera

by   mdbrown ,  Mar 17, 2007
Pros: Huge feature set, great lens, super zoom, opt. stabilization
Cons: Overly aggressive noise reduction, no zoom during movies, low res LCD
The Bottom Line: Great features that can compensate for the noise reduction and a great lens. I am extremely pleased with this camera.
Review: I will preface this review with the statement that I am not a seasoned photographer but I have had quite a few digital cameras over the last 7 years. This is my 2nd "superzoom" camera, the first being a Fujifilm S3100. This camera surpasses the Fuji by ...

Terrific camera, great value

by   frogman12345 ,  Feb 6, 2008
Pros: easy to use, great battery life, reasonably compact
Cons: not as versatile as an SLR
The Bottom Line: great camera for the enthusiast at a great price.
Review: This camera does everything it's intended to do, and it does it well. It's a sort of compromise between the tiny point and shoot models that fit in your pocket, and the full blown SLRs, and I've found that's a really sweet spot to be as far as value ...

by   s_firestone ,  Apr 16, 2006
Pros: Excellent image stabilization Excellent usability Good pictures Excellent battery life Fast control and overall operation
Cons: Cannot charge battery in camera via DC power Proprietary USB cable No RAW mode
The Bottom Line: In the compact ultra-zoom market this is in my opinion, one of the best cameras available. This camera will get you usable pictures in a variety of shooting conditions.
Review: I purchased this camera amongst a convoluted sea of cameras due to its overall per-shot success rate, extensive features, and quality optics in its class as a compact ultra-zoom, fixed-lens camera. Budget was a big concern, considering all digital ...

The Bottom Line: If you are looking for a good all around camera at a good price then I would not hesitate to recommend that you purchase this camera.
Review: I purchased the Lumix as a gift for my husband after researching numerous other cameras. I felt that it offered the best options for the best value. After purchasing the camera we had the chance to try it out at a graduation ceremony. It was an ...

Review: I recently bought my new camera,as I was attracted to it's light weight,Leica lens,and 6mp resolution,and the image stabilisation feature. I already had a Canon Rebel(300d in UK),and have not used it a great deal,as I find the weight,with a Sigma ...

MY DREAM CAMERA!!!

by   lisah3233 ,  Mar 11, 2007
Pros: Flash recovery time short, pop up flash, easy menu settings
