Pioneer Inno: TIVO for XM radio

by   earthsun ,  Feb 10, 2007
Pros: Good sound quality (for DBS); records (time shifts) XM radio; plays MP3's and WMA files
Cons: Limited memory, portable live XM listening needs accessory headphones, FM modulator limited to car dock.
The Bottom Line: For listening to XM's programming on your own time, this unit if for you. Trying to listen to live XM at the gym will disappointed you. Me, I love it!
Review: Good, you are doing research into the Pioneer Inno before spending anywhere from $130.00 to $350.00 (with accessories) for a specialized product designed for a specialized audience. First let me begin by telling you what the Pioneer Inno XM receiver ...

It's a lot better now with the new firmware

by   jrogel ,  Oct 5, 2006
Pros: Small, compact, all in one, xm has great channels
Cons: monthly subscription
The Bottom Line: I've used this product since my purchase. Regular retail chains should consider lowering the $349 price. I think the sweetspot price would be around $199.
Review: I bought my Inno for $220 online which is better than going to a retail store and paying $350. The unit is cool and XM Radio has great stations! At the time, the problem was that the battery drained overnight regardless of whether the unit was turned to ...

XM INNO: The portable Satellite radio receiver and miniTIVO

by   jckatz ,  Mar 22, 2007
Pros: Audio quality, storage, choice.
Cons: If you don't live in a city direct line of site needed.
The Bottom Line: Sure I am the last person I know to get XM or Sirius but I am happy I waited for the INNO.
Review: Well, it is 2007 and I finally did it, I purchased satellite radio. I made my purchase on a Sunday (more about that later), based on a full page ad in the New York Times about the Sirius XM merger. Reasons I haven’t purchase Satellite radio ...

Nice Quality XM Radio, But With Trade-Offs

by   martymcleod ,  Feb 26, 2008
Pros: A good quality XM radio with some media player functionality.
Cons: Limited battery life, and poor memory capacity.
The Bottom Line: If you want a dockable XM radio that's portable, and can live with the limited memory capacity, go for it! Just don't expect it to be an iPod.
Review: I've installed & used nearly all Sirius & XM satellite "dockable" units, including the Audiovox Xpress R unit. Note: I formerly owned an Inno and now own an XPress RC. General Layout: The Pioneer Inno is somewhat similiar to the SkyFi 3 in ...

Audio Utopia? Almost!

by   uk-airraid ,  Aug 23, 2007
Pros: Recording features. MP3/Radio all in one. Well constructed. Pioneer reliability.
Cons: Only 1GB memory. No expansion slots for more memory.
The Bottom Line: This is the best alternative for people who want an MP3 player as well as radio!
Review: Everybody has an MP3 player these days! They wear them on armbands, they clip on belts, and some are even built into sunglasses! Simply stated, people love to carry their tunes with them. (This was particularly evident 20 years ago when we all carried ...

Good But Not Great

by   lsweet28 ,  May 21, 2008
Pros: Offers a wide variety of music listening in one device
Cons: Earphones, case, largeish size, annoying commercials that I though XM didn't broadcast
The Bottom Line: This unit would be worth the money if you didn't already have music stations on your TV at home or built into your car (both of which I already had).
Review: I got my Inno for Christmas and have been using it for about 6 months now when I walk. I like it but I don't love it. FYI - XM is not commercial free. The Bad: To change the radio station you have to open up one side of the leather case and risk ...

Great pioneer inno, simply the best around!

by   raccoonman ,  Jan 29, 2007
Pros: Great reception, great sound Can record lot's of music from xm.
Cons: Fm transmitter deactivated unless you buy a car kit.
Review: My favorite xm radio up to this point, I bought a refurbished for under $135.00, much better reception than the Tao xm2go. I use mostly on my atv! ...

The new boy (portable XM radio) on the block.

by   bw-reviews ,  Sep 1, 2006
Pros: Impressive color screen, and don't need a home/car dock to play.
Cons: Expensive still at $350, for hardcore music fans only.
The Bottom Line: Do your research to see if you really want to spend the extra money for an Inno.
Review: Pioneer XM2go Inno Satellite Radio Receiver Pioneer's new toy sure has drawn attention, thanks to electronic magazines and the RIAA. It has been called the IPOD killer. I doubt kill is the word. However it's nice, but very expensive toy, for what ...

Inno is stylish, but lacks in performance

by   novadan ,  Jun 27, 2006
Pros: MP3 downloading, song recording, color screen, sleek design, light-weight, bookmarking capabilities
Cons: Poor reception, no Mac software, confusing buttons, sticky power button
The Bottom Line: Buy this product if you have $350 to spare...it's great, sometimes.
Review: I bought the Inno when my XM MiFi personal receiver stopped working with expectations that this new device would afford both better reception as a handheld, and and easier user-interface. I have been using the device for about a month now, and have ...

6 month review

by   mapstr ,  Feb 25, 2007
Pros: Decent reception outdoors if you don’t cover it. Easy to use.
Cons: Many of the recordings stop before the songs end.
Review: It died. One day it would not charge or even work in the cradle. All the songs that I had recorded are gone. It cannot be repaired. My only option is to return it to Pioneer and they will send me a refurbished model. I am not a happy camper. ...
