Who needs a hummer

by   poyznelf ,  May 6, 2003
Pros: Snow w/bald tires... not a problem. Fast and reliable
Cons: The cup holder sucks.
The Bottom Line: You need a no-frills car that won't catch eyes (or cops), but could win on the dragstrip as well as the ski resort. Get yourself one of these.
Review: My parents bought this car new when my mom needed "cheap" but reliable transportation. She hated the color, but loved the handling and roadworthiness. She went from a high performance Chrysler LeBaron GTS, to a plain Jane sleeper. When they offered the...

Gee-Wizz this car is awesome!!!

by   m_brown84 ,  Oct 5, 2000
Pros: Excellent reliability, power, quality, and value
Cons: Nothing at all.
Review: Hi,
My mom and dad bought a 1993 Plymouth Acclaim with a 2.5L four cylinder in it back when I was little. We had traded in a Chrysler station wagon because it was falling apart all over the place. My dad said that he had owned a few Chrysler's in...

A nice reliable used vehicle.

by   retroactivism ,  Jan 24, 2002
Pros: Reliable, roomy, relatively comfortable.
Cons: Little pickup, some shoddy workmanship.
The Bottom Line: Get from point A to B comfortably and reliably.
Review: I've owned my '93 Acclaim for three years now. I bought it certified used from a dealer in my area. The 1993 Acclaim came in 4 and 6 cylinder models. I own the former and must say I have no complaints about this vehicle. Over the last 3 years, it's ...

The Family Frontier

by   illcjesus ,  Jun 10, 2001
Pros: Lot of room inside and a large trunk make this an ideal family car.
Cons: My beautiful blue Acclaim has a bad case of paint flaking!!
The Bottom Line: I would highly recommend this vehicle. It is dependable, comfortable and affordable.
Review: I have had my Acclaim for about 5 years now and have been overall thrilled with this vehicle. There is ample room for 6 adults to ride in comfort and the four doors makes getting in and out with children (especially those still in car seats) a breeze....

Fast and fun.

by   chevymetro ,  Mar 20, 2008
Pros: fast 6 cylinder, solid body, basic looking style.
Cons: Bad ruster, bad paint, bad fuel economy.
Review: I purchased a (very) used 1993 Plymouth Acclaim from a charity lot for $800.00. This was a fun car to drive, but did not last very long- all of the gas lines rusted out at the same time leaving me stranded on TWO occassions! And I have noticed that every ...

American Car...Ehhh

by   kassieme ,  Sep 12, 2007
Pros: Big, comfertable, smooth drive
Cons: gas guzzler, a/c issues, paint chipping (omg is it chipping!), overheating
The Bottom Line: My reccomendation...get an American car if you want lots of space. but get a foreign one for dependability
Review: Its alright for an american car. My mom got me this vehicle after my loving '88 Camry car got totaled (but still drivable). I wasnt too thrilled, still not, about getting an american car. But for A to B it took me, whatever I digress. It drives smooth ...

Stay away!

by   gregf70 ,  Feb 16, 2001
Pros: Good size
Cons: Unreliable and extremely slow.
The Bottom Line: If it was this bad when it was new, imagine how bad it is when it's used.
Review: I purchased this car new in 1993. Two week later it was at the dealer getting a headlight lens replaced. Chrysler policy was to drill a hole in the lens, to prevent the light from filling up with water. I eventually had to purchase a new lens to keep...

Not a wise purchase!

by   nicolemarie713 ,  Dec 21, 2004
Pros: good family car if properly inspected and maintained, inexpensive, parts are easy to find
Cons: bad transmission, lots of problems, waste of money!
Review: I bought mine at around 40,000 miles, am only at 70,000 and already had to replace transmission about 10,000 miles ago. Car was previously owned by one elderly woman, nothing bad happened, just a lemon. Lots of issues; stalling out while driving down the ...
