Pros: Touching portrayal of love and sacrifice; beautiful message of racial unity.
Cons: A one-dimensional villain; a few scenes unsuitable for young children.
The Bottom Line: A Treat for lovers of Romantic Musicals; a Nightmare for Historians.
Review: Deviating from the fast depleting tried-and-true fairy tale formula, Disney adopted a bolder approach and chose the path where no animated movie had treaded before. Pocahontas was the first animated feature which used history ...

Pros: Captivating musical score that is memorable and loveable.
Cons: They made a sequel that didn't live up to the original.
The Bottom Line: Pocahontas remains one of my favorite Disney Animated films because of it's cast of colorful characters and it's even more colorful soundtrack.
Review: Pocahontas premiered in 1995, and it didnt take long for me to fall in love with this classic. The movie is 81 minutes in length, and has a G rating. I would first, like to put to rest all of the whining, complaining, and otherwise criticism associated ...

Pros: great story with information about different cultures.
Cons: none
The Bottom Line: This movie is great for children and adults. It teaches a great lesson on different culture and attitudes.
Review: Pocahontas is set in 1607 at the new age of exploration. A group of British adventurers, who are led by the greedy and avaricious governer of Virginia, John Ratcliff, and a fearless soldier, John Smith have set sail for the new world aboard the Susan ...

Pros: Amazing set of extras, remastered video and audio.
Cons: None.
The Bottom Line: A truly beautiful package worthy of my favorite Disney film (and plenty to keep the kids engaged as well!).
Review: Pocahontas was, in my opinion, the last great traditional Disney animated film. I was fifteen when it came out, at the age where Disney movies soon became a thing of the past. I was attracted to Pocahontas for a number of reasons: I had spend childhood ...

Pros: Realistic Animation, Inspiring Songs, Lovable Characters
Cons: Wait a minute....the movie is already over.
The Bottom Line: Bringing history alive to children of all ages.
Review: Disney did a wonderful job of combining music with a meaningful story. Pocahontas and John Smith have been taught for years in school but this movie brings them to life. The movie shows the struggles the Indians and the white man had from the...

Pros: Excellent imagery, music and story
Cons: not historicly accurate
Review: First, let me preface this by saying that this is an excellent movie, with the rich colors, music, and characters we have come to expect from Disney.
The problem is, it left us wanting to know more about Pocahontas, and that's where we ran into a... |

Pros: colorful, fun for kids, great music.
Cons: Not very accurate.
Review: I have to say, I've spent the entire time since this movie came out trying to figure out where the waterfall went. I live about 15 minutes from the settlement and there are no waterfalls like that here. Okay, maybe that is a minor point. But it matters...
